Federal Aviation Administration

Presented by Gordon Rother AGL 201 NWA CMO gordon.rother@faa.gov

Opening
The Dispatch Profession in the United States has been around since the first Dispatcher, Stephen Floyd Whalton was certificated on June 30, 1938. Since that time the FAA has certificated thousands of Dispatchers. In recent years the FAA came to the conclusion that they needed inspectors with experience.

Opening
The first ASI/Aircraft Dispatcher, Thomas Rau was hired into the American Airlines CMO June 17, 2001, since that time 11 other inspectors were hired. Because we are all Dispatchers first, we have a vested interest in the profession. I fully support the role of IFALDA and ADF in raising the bar, increasing safety.
