INTRODUCTION
Article 46 of the Indian Constitution lays down a

directive principle of State Policy. It provides that, the state shall promote with special care the education and economic interest of Scheduled caste and scheduled tribes, and shall protect them from social injustices and all form of exploitation. Article 275 provides for the grant of special funds by the Union Government to the State Government for promoting the welfare of the Scheduled Tribe and for providing them with better administration.

OBJECTIVE OF STUDY
To Study the Emotional and Social Maturity of Tribal

and Non-Tribal Girls in Odisha. To Study the Emotional and Social Maturity of Rural Tribal and Rural Non-Tribal Girls in Odisha. To Study the Emotional and Social Maturity of Urban Tribal and Urban Non-Tribal Girls in Odisha.

NULL HYPOTHESIS
There is significant difference the Mean Emotional

and Social maturity Scale Scores of Tribal and NonTribal Girls. There is significant difference the Mean Emotional and Social maturity Scale Scores of Rural Tribal and Rural Non-Tribal Girls. There is significant difference the Mean Emotional and Social maturity Scale Scores of Urban Tribal and Urban Non-Tribal Girls.

ALTERNATE HYPOTHESIS
There is no significant difference the Mean Emotional

and Social maturity Scale Scores of Tribal and NonTribal Girls. There is no significant difference the Mean Emotional and Social maturity Scale Scores of Rural Tribal and Rural Non-Tribal Girls. There is no significant difference the Mean Emotional and Social maturity Scale Scores of Urban Tribal and Urban Non-Tribal Girls.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Descriptive Survey method has been followed for the

study

SAMPLE TESTING
T - TEST
The sample of the study consisted of 650 Ninth grade

students from twenty eight (28) high schools in the district of Mayurbhanj, Odisha.

FINDINGS
The Mean Emotional and Social Maturity Scale scores

of Non-Tribal Girls is more higher than that of the Tribal Girls. The Mean Emotional and Social Maturity Scale scores of Rural Non-Tribal Girls is more higher than that of the Rural Tribal Girls. The Mean Emotional and Social Maturity Scale scores of Urban Tribal Girls are Similar.
