Field Appraisal
When exploratory drilling is successful, more wells are drilled to determine the size and the extent of the field. Wells drilled to quantify the resources found are called outstep or appraisal wells. The appraisal stage aims at:
Evaluating the size and nature of the reservoir Determining the number of appraisal wells required Determining whether more seismic work is required.
The technical procedures in appraisal drilling are the same as those employed in exploratory drilling.
Field Development
Oil and gas projects develop from initial Prospect status into committed investment.
Field Development demands adaptable, quick-thinking, multi-skilled engineers and scientist supported by the most advanced tools and methodologies.
Field Development covers a wide range of options from single well with early production facilities to a complex multi-well, multi-facility development and from small sub-sea tiebacks to large scale deep water development. Key skills for total field development are:
Subsurface including geology, geophysics, petrophysics and reservoir engineering. Well design and production technology Flow assurance and production chemistry Subsea and pipeline design Facilities and structure design Environmental impact Technical safety and risk management Cost estimation and scheduling

Field Development
A Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel is a type of floating tank system used by the offshore oil and gas industry and designed to take all of the oil or gas produced from nearby platforms or templates, process it, and store it until the oil or gas can be offloaded onto a tanker or transported Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) through a pipeline.

Field Development
Creating and increasing the project value is the main objective of any Field Development
Field Development
Development concepts are examined against: technical, commercial, operational, safety, and environmental performance goals to ensure:
Robustness during start-up, normal operations, and shutdowns (including planned and unplanned activities) Benchmarking against industry experience.
