There are many certificates around the world, they can measure all different levels of ability to deal with everyday use of English language.

WHAT IS AN ENGLISH CERTIFICATE?


Is an in-depth assessment of English language ability and the several varieties of tests available are recognized by thousands of employers and educational institutions around the world as a reliable tool for qualification of the level of English of an individual.

It can measure an individual's level of English use.


It can assess any of the language skills. The test is divided into sections which measure each skill with a determined number of questions and exercices.

WHY TAKING THIS KIND OF EXAMS?


I need to take an English test for applying to a EnglishSpeaking College or University abroad. I need to take an English test to get a job or improve my career opportunities. I want to improve my overall skills in English, but not necessarily for a purpose such as getting a better job or going to a university. Serves as objective evidence of a person's English skills.

ETS (TOEFL-TOEIC)

ETS stands for Educational Testing Service. It is an American company which focus on North American English and computer based exams. Questions are almost exclusively multiple choice and ask you to choose from four choices based on information you have read, heard or have to deal with in some manner. Writing is also tested at the computer.

The Test Of English as a Foreign Language evaluates the success of an individual to use and understand standard American English at a college level. Where Can I Take the TOEFL TEST?

What is TOEIC? Measures the ability of non-native English-speaking people to use English in real life everyday work activities.

What Does the TOEIC Test Include? The Listening and Reading test is a paper and pencil test that takes 2.5 hours and consists of 200 questions that are divided into two section of 1oo question for each skill. The Speaking and Writing test is an online test and takes 90 minutes. The responses are digitally recorded and sent to ETSs Online Scoring Network to be rated.

What Do TOEIC Scores Mean?

Each candidate receives independent marks for written and oral comprehension on a scale from 5 to 495 points. The total score adds up to a scale from 10 and 990 points. The TOEIC certificate exists in five colors, corresponding to achieved results: orange (10-215), brown (220-465), green (470-725), blue (730-855) and gold (860-990).

CEFR (COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES)


Developed by the Council of Europe (CE), provides a common basis for the elaboration of language syllabuses, curriculum guidelines, examinations, textbooks, etc. across Europe. CEF aims to establish international standards for learning, teaching, and assessment for all modern European languages.
The Common European Framework describes what a learner can do at six specific levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2.

EFFECTIVE TEST TAKING STRATEGIES


Do not translate from your mother tongue Don't block when listening Limit yourself to what you know

Look for time signifiers when having to conjugate


Throw out the ridiculous answers in a multiple choice question Use the rest of the test as an information and vocabulary resource Don't try to be too funny or clever
