Chapter-2 Theoretical Concept


Mobile Phones
A mobile phone can make and receive telephone calls to and from the public telephone network which includes other mobiles and fixed-line phones across the world. It does this by connecting to a cellular network provided by a mobile network operator. In addition to telephony, modern mobile phones also support a wide variety of other services such as text messaging, MMS, email, Internet access, short-range wireless communications (infrared, Bluetooth), business applications, gaming and photography. Mobile phones that offer these more general computing capabilities are referred to as smart phones.

Chapter-3 RESEARCH PROCESS

(1)Problem Identification
The first and the most important step of marketing research is

problem identification. The problem is A number of peoples are not aware about features available in their Nokia Handset. A number of peoples are not aware about how to use that system. Type of difficulty:-Latent Difficulty Sample and sampling units:- Peoples of surat city. Time and Space Boundary:- 08.09.11 13.09.11 and peoples of surat city Characteristics of Interest:-awareness about nokia , awareness about features available in nokia handsets. Environmental condition:-normally conduct survey

1.1 FORMULATION OF RESEARCH PROBLEM


After identifying the research the next step is to formulate the research problem. It is precisely formulation implies a clear statement or definition of the problem. According to our research problem the following points are to be taken in to consideration while formulating the problem. Sample : (100) Time : 1th to 15th November 2012 Space : surat city.

1.2 Hypothesis
H0= Majority of the respondents are not aware about nokia handset. H1= Majority of the respondents are aware about nokia handset. Ho= Majority of the respondents are not aware about features available in nokia handset. H1= Majority of the respondents are aware about features available nokia handset.

H0= Null Hypothesis H1= Alternative Hypothesis

(2) CHOOSE THE RESEARCH DESIGN


Research Design indicates the methods and procedure of

conducting research study. There are mainly 3 types of

research design:
1) Exploratory Research. 2) Descriptive Research.

3) Causal Research.

The researcher has choose Descriptive research

because researcher is very clear with the problem.

(3) DETERMINING THE SOURCES OF DATA There are two types of data used that is as follows:
Primary data Secondary data

The researcher has to decide whether he has to collect primary data or depend exclusively on secondary data. Sometimes, the research study is based on both secondary and primary data. It is also advisable to evaluate secondary data in detail avoid possible sources of error. Primary data collected with the help of questionnaire and for organizational information secondary data collected with help of Internet and book of research and methodology.

(4) DESIGNING THE DATA COLLECTION FORM

The researcher has collected primary data. The

researcher has used Survey Method for data collection by personal interview.
The data collection tool is Questionnaire, E-mail

(5) DETERMINING SAMPLING DESIGN AND SAMPLING SIZE


Who is to be surveyed?
In the project youngsters were selected to conduct survey.

Sampling method :

For the purpose of the study Non Probability (Convenience) method was used. A survey of 100 Respondents is carried out to know awareness of Nokia Handset.

The area for doing the survey was surat city

(6) ORGANIZING AND CONDUCTING THE FIELD SURVEY


We are conducting personal survey with the help of

friends ,who helps us fill up 50 questionnaire in surat city and other 50 by E-mail survey.

(7) ANALYSE AND INTERPRETE THE COLLECTED DATA

After all the above steps are completed now the

important step is data analysis and interpretation.


Some of the tool are percentage, tabulation, pie-

chart column chart are used for the analysis data. Graphical and tabulation method are used for analysis and interpretation.

Most of peoples use Nokia Handset. In above question 45% use Nokia, 16% use 8% use Motorola and 31% use others Handset. Samsung,

Conclusions
From the analysis of questionnaire we conclude that awareness

of Nokia Handset is good.


Most of peoples using High rate Nokia Handset but they Dont

know how to operate it and they dont use that facility on regular based.

It is prove that,
H1= Majority of the respondents are aware about nokia handset. H1= Majority of the respondents are aware about features available nokia handset

Chapter:-5 Suggestions
Nokia company have to add new feature in mobile. . Nokia wants to improve their battery life. Nokia company have to increase their marketing strategy.

Nokia wants to increase their phones sound quality.


Nokia wants to change mobile looks make more attractive.

Limitations of Study:
We are carried out survey among only 200

Respondents. It might be answer different if sample size is increases.


The population under study is subjects to

limitations of particular region and represents the information regarding Surat city only.
Analysis and conclusions is made as per

researchers knowledge of concerned project.
