Mathematics is an exact science which is related to measurements, calculations, discovering relationship and dealing with the problems of space. Mathematic in a strict sense is the abstract science which deals with number and space, Measurements, Quantity and Magnitude. Mathematics is an inductive and experimental science and guessing is the experimental tool of mathematics.

VALUES OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS IN CURRICULUM AND IN LIFE


Mathematics is a subject of great educational values and make a major contribution in achieving the aim of education. The main aim of education is to develop the individual in such away that he becomes a contributory member of society. There some important values which can be inculcated through mathematics for the development and growth of human characters.

Definition:- Mathematics is the Mirror of civilizations mathematics is a subject of great social and cultural importance.(by Hogben).

Characteristics: The Progress and the improvement of mathematics are linked with the prosperity of the state.
Mathematics practices include symbolic system, spatial designs, practical construction, techniques calculation method, measurement in time and space, specific ways of reasoning and inferring can be translated to formal mathematical representation. Ethno mathematics is the study of mathematics which take into consideration of culture in which mathematics arise.

The culture is reflected through how they live, behave, eat, drink and maintain their social relationship for (Time table maintenance and punctuality). The history of mathematics portray civilization and culture of different countries at different periods. (for eg Egyptian culture and Greek Culture). The greatness of Indian culture is once reflected through the glory of Indian Mathematics of older Days(For Eg. The Wonder of world and the beauty of Indian culture Taj mahal).

MERITS

Mathematical knowledge is also the mean of preservation of cultural heritage and their transmission to the coming generation. It play important role in several important arts of life like Architecture, Sculpture, Drawing, painting, music, poetry and design making. Mathematics is intimately linked with culture and civilization. For Eg: the barter system with the advancement of mathematics in now changed to monetary system.

CONCLUSION
Mathematics is the backbone of our civilization and culture. What we have in our modern culture and civilization owsites debt to science and technology which turns depends upon the progress in mathematics. Mathematics shapes culture as play tack pioneer. The Prosperity of man and his cultural advancement depends up

on mathematics.
