About The NGO

Formed in the year 2009,Sur Nirman is a social and non-profit organization it aims to improve the quality of society and life of poor children. Its main motive is to help the poor persons, old people, children in their education and aware people about sexual harassment , child labour etc problems.

Definition
Unwelcome verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature that is severe or pervasive and affects working conditions or creates a hostile environment.

What is sexual harassment?


Sexual attention that is unwanted Includes any unwelcome:Physical contact Sexual remarks about a persons clothing or body Sexual questions, jokes, anecdotes, or stories Sexually explicit materials in the classroom or workplace that have no educational or work-related purpose

Examples of Sexual Harassment


Unwanted jokes, gestures, offensive words on clothing, and unwelcome comments and witty responses. Touching and any other bodily contact such as scratching or patting a coworker's back, grabbing an employee around the waist, or interfering with an employee's ability to move. Repeated requests for dates that are turned down or unwanted flirting. Transmitting or posting emails, texts, or pictures of a sexual or other harassment-related nature. Displaying sexually suggestive objects, pictures, or posters. Playing sexually suggestive music

3 TYPES OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT


VISUAL inappropriate instant message or email, bathroom wall graffiti, showing someone inappropriate pictures that makes them feel uncomfortable, obscene gestures VERBAL dirty jokes, comments about someones body, spreading rumors of a sexual nature PHYSICAL grabbing or touching someone that makes them feel uncomfortable, unwanted hugging or kissing, pulling down someones pants

Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Title VII applies to employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments. It also applies to employment agencies and to labor organizations, as well as to the federal government.

What to do if you experience harassment/discrimination?


If you experience or witness this type of interference thenTalk to someone you trust Make it clear to the harasser that the behavior will not be tolerated Take help form any NGO Report to police
