The feasibility of using the materials in the Digital Age classroom and in Malaysia.

The board
For students comprehension - The notes a teacher writes on the board are essential to a students understanding. - Increases the chances of students taking correct notes. With information clearly in front of them, students take better notes they can study later. Student Involvement - Teachers can have students write on the board to display their understanding of the topic. - Take turns writing and answering questions, physically identifying areas of confusion, or presenting alternative perspectives on the board that may help their peers.

Teaching effectiveness - It easier to control the pace of a lecture because it encourages writing while talking - a task that requires instruction at a moderate speed. - Can play many different games using just the board. Example: hangman, bingo, noughts and cross. - Able to display all sorts of items - posters, pictures and flashcards. Example: Encourage students to come out to the board to choose, select, order or describe pictures. make the classroom more interactive and avoid too much teacher talking time.

Computer-based presentation technology

a)The two crucial pieces of hardware are a computer and a data projector. Teaching effectiveness. The data that is on the computer screen can be shown to the whole class-using data projector All the class can see a word-processed task at the same time. Example: picture, diagram or map. Presentation software-PowerPoint present visual material. Examples: words, graphics and pictures. Offers a more interesting option-can mix text and visuals with audio/video tracks.

b) Interactive whiteboard (IWB) Teaching effectiveness can present visual materials in a magnified way for every one to see. teacher and students can write on the board which the images are being projected can manipulate images on the board with the use of special pens/fingers(acts as a computer mouse). ability to move text and graphics around the board. Attractive to the younger learners. data can be saved or printed so that anything written up can be looked at again.

The flip chart

Teaching effectiveness Demand no technical expertise. It is useful for making notes in groups, and can be kept for the future reference Each member in the groups can give feedback and ideas using the flipchart easily so everybody can see. The qualities almost similar to computer-based technology.

The leader can be the one who conduct the conversation by standing near the flip chart and records the point. Each members may edit it if they have good point. Portable and cheap, so each groups can easily have their own flip chart

Teaching effectiveness Allow teacher to keep their eyes on the class Transparencies can also build concepts and sequences Offers possibility of attractive well printed script Easy to create new visuals Transparencies are reusable. They can be used with both large and small groups. Students can display their own work and presentation Transparencies can be used with normal room lighting. Overhead projectors are simple to operate. Limitations Electricity or components problem (bulb) Visibility of images (quality Bulky Lighting problems

Less chances for distraction in the classroom
