INTERNAL PROJECT GUIDE Mr. R. Josva

OUTLINE OF PRESENTATION

Abstract Introduction Literature review Methodology Result Conclusion Future scope

ABSTRACT
This project is aimed to satisfy every day need of human. Every house is having of fans, lights and TV. In this work two objectives are proposed, To control the lighting and fan loads using a universal

remote.
Implementing energy conservation using dedicated sensors and embedded controller.

INTRODUCTION
Energy conservation is an important criteria to be

implemented effectively in all forms of work.

The basic applications of electricity in all kinds of sectors is majorly fans and lights. In this work we are trying to eliminate the unwanted usage of electrical energy.

INTRODUCTION
In addition we integrate a remote which can be used to

control the loads. Integration of sensors with embedded controller can result in energy conservation.

LITERATURE REVIEW

We proposed to integrate a universal remote for controlling

the loads because it can be used for a wide range of Radio Frequency which is unlike other dedicated remotes.

Fuzzy logic is preferred as it is more prcised compared to

micro controller which is digitized.

LITERATURE REVIEW
Home automation is the general area under which safety,

security and automation is carried out.

In general home automation there is need of dedicated PC for processing. In this work the need of PC is eliminated

LITERATURE REVIEW
Data collected from the HOD room before installation of the

project.
Average working hours per day - 10 hrs. In case of meeting - 1 hr. Morning and Evening Tea Break - 30 minutes. Lunch break time - 1hr. In between class - 1hr.

METHODOLOGY

System Design

STAGE I: Design of PIR sensor. STAGE II : Design of load driver circuits SOFTWARE USED: CCS C compiler.

PIR SENSOR
A Pyro Infrared sensor (PIR sensor) is an electronic

device that measures infrared (IR) light radiating from

objects in its field of view. It is also called as Passive as it accepts incoming infrared radiation.

PIR SENSOR
The pyroelectric infrared sensor detects infrared radiation on the basis of the characteristics that the polarization of pyroelectric material changes with temperature. A dual element Pyroelectric sensor receives the incoming

infra-red radiation from the various zones.

The two elements of the sensor receive varying amounts of infra-red radiation and this difference is amplified, turning into a signal.

PIR SENSOR
This means that the detected body will have to move into

or between the two elements field of view to cause the

sensor to generate an output signal in a set time interval.

WHY WE USE OF PIR SENSOR?

While a number of technologies for motion detection exist, including ultrasonic and microwave radiation sensors, the PIR sensor is popular for its Ease-of-setup. High performance. Inexpensive .

Consumes less power.

FUZZY LOGIC What is it?

Fuzzy Logic is a problem-solving control system

methodology.
FL provides a simple way to arrive at a definite conclusion based upon vague, or missing input information. It is a superset of Boolean logic.

How it is different?
The output control is a smooth control function despite a wide range of input variations. It can be built into anything from small, hand-held products compared to large computerized process control

systems.
Without fuzzy logic With fuzzy logic

Fuzzy logic over convectional design

Fuzzy logic reduces the design development cycle. It simplifies design complexity. It reduces hardware cost. It simplifies implementation.

It improves control performance.

PIC
PIC16F870 microcontroller is preferred.

It is a 28 pin pack.
Having 3 ports.

In built timers
In built PWM.

RESULT
The objective of developing automated circuit is

completed.
The system is tested and implemented successfully. The average energy saved after implementation of our project is 37.5%.

CONCLUSION
The current setbacks of power wastage were highlighted.

The suggested idea of this project serves as a scope to the

development of electronic commodities, which is used for

domestic and industrial purpose.

FUTURE SCOPE
This project can be integrated with some more features as Automatically control of individual loads according to the presence of human in a particular area which generally helps in public areas. This may also lead to a collaboration of such these domestic products together to reduce the consumption of

power and to March towards our green environment.
