METHODOLOGY OF THE STUDY

Research design: Research design is the arrangement of conditions for collection and analysis of data in a manner that aims to combine relevance to the research purpose. The design adopted in the study is descriptive study.

Sources of data: The analysis of employee motivation in the company necessitates accurate and reliable data.
primary data Collected employees opinions regarding motivation with a well defined questionnaire Secondary data: It is collected through standard text books, relevant HR journals, reports, magazines and Volvo trucks India websites. Also from reports, bulletins and manuals of HR department.

Sampling:
This study is conducted in VOLVO TRUCKS INDIA to know the way in which the employees are motivated and their performance. From the population a sample size of 50 is taken. Sample is chosen randomly. The data collection will thus happen from these respondents.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

Since the performance of the company not only depends on employee dedication and hard work. The company performance chart may show slow growth despite of very good employee motivation policies due to recession, poor logistics, poor marketing, tough completion etc. The company performance not always reflects good employee motivation policies. The time period provided for the project is limited.

SUMMARY OF ANALYSIS

In the analysis I found out The majority of the respondents that is 38 % are from the Production department and 30 % of the respondents are from the Finance department, 26 % of the respondents are from the sales department, and the remaining only 6 % of the respondents are from the personnel department. The Majority of 38 % of the respondents belongs to production. It clearly indicates that biggest department of the industry is production department since it is a manufacturing unit the number of the employees in the production department are more. Whereas in the experience part 42 % of the employees have 6 to10 year experience in the organization, and 34 % of the respondents agreed that they have an experience of 11years and above, and the remaining 24 % of the employees have an experience 5 years and below in this industry. From this we could learn that majority of respondents have an experience of 6-10 year and they are working here for a long time. This is a clearly indicates that the employees are motivated to work with this organization.

Whereas in the appreciation of the employees 50 of respondents agreed that they are motivated and appreciated always by the management and 40 % of respondents are appreciated sometime by the organization and the remaining 10 % of the respondents have reported negatively. It clearly indicates that majority of respondents 50 are getting motivation and appreciation from the management. Which has helped to have a very good moral towards the organization and hence they are working in the same organization for many year

FINDINGS

To understand the socio demographic profile of the respondent. to know the various techniques adopted for employee motivation in the organization Majority of the respondents is 50 % were appreciated by the organization. 46 % of the respondents agreed that organization takes their suggestions while formulating the organizational policies. According to 40 % of the respondents said that by giving incentives the employees get motivated. Majority of the respondents that is 34 % were between the age group of 31-40 years. The study Reveals that the organizations has made room for young employees The researcher found that 90 % of the respondents were willing to continue their job in the same company. The majority 72 % of the respondents said that they have adequate materials and equipments to do their work in the organization

RECOMMENDATIONS

Company can put into practice several suggestion schemes, inviting innovative ideas and suggestions from the employees and thereby boosting and motivating them. Motivation comes through employee involvement, which is caused due to meaningful participation Company can change the existing promotion policy (which is based on experience); employees could be motivated by linking promotion to performance. Senior leaders should take initiative to communicate with employees at all levels, especially those in the shop floor. Sympathetic supervision is one of the factors motivating employees, supervisory development program should be given to the supervisors. As indicated in the study financial benefits like incentives have emerged as one of the most important factors motivating employees. Therefore the amount of incentives offered to individual for satisfying his motive should be adequate.
