Multiple traffic control using wireless sensors and density measuring camera

Traffic research has the goal to optimize traffic flow of people and goods. Traffic light optimization is a complex problem. Even for single junctions there might be no obvious optimal solution. .We propose two approaches. In the first approach - to take data/input/image from object/subject/vehicle. In the second approach - to process the input data by Computer and Microcontroller and finally display it on the traffic light signal to control the Closed Loop System and also optimized visual monitoring of traffic using Camera.

Multiple traffic control

Wireless sensor network

A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a wireless network consisting of spatially distributed autonomous devices using sensors to cooperatively monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, vibration, pressure, motion or pollutants, at different locations. The development of wireless sensor networks was originally motivated by military applications such as battlefield surveillance. However, wireless sensor networks are now used in many civilian application areas, including environment and habitat monitoring, healthcare applications, home automation, and traffic control.

The system prototype consists of four elements 1) The wireless sensor network (WSN) 2) The intersection control agents (ICAs) 3) The actuators (i.e., traffic lights)

4) The environment

Camera Technology
All Traffic camera systems are digital and provide Prosecutable images in all weather conditions, 24 hours a day.

The 11 Mega pixel camera will cover 4 lanes plus a hard shoulder showing context (scene) information and clearly readable license plates.
The minimum rate of image capture for a typical installation, taking into consideration the flash recharge rate, is approximately 300 milliseconds.

Gatsometer Speed equipment and traffic light camera.

Gatsometers innovative photo enforcement systems and services make a valuable

Contribution to traffic safety. Our modular approach to design ensures that systems are configured to meet the most demanding traffic enforcement requirements.

Gatsometer's Digital Radar Camera System (DRCS)

Enforcement Systems Speed enforcement - Gatsometer pioneered the use of speed enforcement and now supplies a comprehensive range of equipment for monitoring and processing speed offences. Red light enforcement - Automated control is vital for safety at intersections; whether it is a two-lane street or a multi-lane intersection, Gatsometer has a robust, reliable and innovative solution.

Speed Enforcement Cameras

Gatsometers range of detection technologies provides a solution for all , locations and enforcement applications

Emergency vehicle notification systems:
The minimum set of data contains information about the incident, including time, precise location, the direction the vehicle was traveling, and vehicle identification

Automatic road enforcement

A traffic enforcement camera system, consisting of a camera and a vehicle-monitoring device, is used to detect and identify vehicles disobeying a speed limit or some other road legal requirement and automatically ticket offenders based on the license plate number.

speed limits

Recently some jurisdictions have begun experimenting with variable speed limits which change with road congestion and other factors

Automatic number plate recognition

Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) is a mass surveillance method that uses optical character recognition on images to read the license plates on vehicles.

In this paper we propose approaches to controller the multiple traffic light in a City by applying a simple method using wireless communication network and Gatsometer Speed Equipment and Traffic Light Cameras for display and monitoring City traffic. In this paper we also approaches the another aspect of traffic control is controlling traffic light in a way that minimize the time drivers have to wait.

Future aspects of this works is communicating the situation of traffic to the individual of City using LCD display on every traffic unit and vehicle also by transmitting audio message using and wireless transmitting
