Nearly every week, if not every day, there are more and more open source and open educational resources available and accessible to us. It's impossible to ignore. It also seems impossible to keep pace with the sheer volume.

People install pirated software and feel unsafe, at least in the corner of their minds because they know that they are doing wrong. But with FOSS, there are no headaches or anything. FOSS is a huge community-backed arena. We can just download it and install it for free. And it is absolutely legal.

What

is "free software" and is it the same as "open source"?

In a nutshell, open source software has been proven to provide better value, lower costs, and improved security, addressing the most important enterprise considerations today.
