The Beatitudes for Teachers

Blessed are the teachers who listen to their students, especially the ones with repeated questions, for they possess the ears of Christ.

Blessed are the teachers who see the needs of their students, especially the ones unrecognized by others,

for they possess the eyes of Christ.

Blessed are the teachers who speak kindly of their students,

especially those without positive motivation,

for they possess the mouth of Christ.

Blessed are the teachers who gently touch their students, especially the ones who feel the sting of violence at home, for they possess the hands of Christ.

Blessed are the teachers who think prayerfully of their students, especially those who dont know God, for they possess the mind of Christ.

Blessed are the teachers who walk patiently with their students, especially the one lacking spiritual guidance, for they possess the feet of Christ.

Blessed are the teachers who persevere in their faith-sharing ministry, especially when their efforts seem in vain,

for they possess the healing presence of Christ and theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Daniel Webster, the great statesman and orator, underlined the great service teachers render to the human community when he said:

If we work upon marble, it will perish. If we work upon brass, it will efface it. If we tear temples, they will crumble to dust. But if we work upon mens immortal minds, If we imbue them with high principles, With just the fear of God and love of their fellow man, If we engrave on those tablets something which no time can efface, And which will brighten and brighten to all eternity.

All students can learn and succeed, but not all on the same day in the same way. William Spady

Prayer All: Lord, I pray for the Spirits gifts of knowledge and wisdom and understanding. I pray for the ability to make balanced judgments and choices, And for the courage then to do what I realized I am called to do:

Courage to defeat the obstacles of fear and uncertainty and courage to give me strength and determination and perseverance.

May your Spirit lead me to have great respect and reverence for all creation for each person, so that all that I see may lead me to grow in awareness of your love and your presence.

Our Father Closing Song:

Come build my Church its falling to ruin That what the Father tells me to do Give stones and mortar, lets build together this lowly house of God

Come build my Church its falling to ruin Thats what the Father tells me to do Give stones and mortar, lets build together This lowly house of God

To evry town and village and valleys Preach what the good Lord has done for us Tell of His mercy, sing of His love Let man glorify His name.

Be poor in spirit and in your living Live like the larks and doves up above Care not for what this world can provide us Trust in Gods loving care.

Praised be the Lord Praised be the Lord Praised be the Lord, O my soul O praise the Lord Praise the Lord.
