Hitler and His Influence

By: Allison, Catherine, Kaity, and Ryan

The beginning of Hitler

Prior to the 1932 election, Hitler promoted his campaign Hitler Over Germany, where he spoke in 15 cities in 15 days.
On February 27, the Reichstag (Government Building) was set on fire. Although it was blamed on the communist party, the Nazis were the real culprit. Hitler became Chancellor and convinced the president to issue a decree that took away the basic rights of citizens: including freedom of speech and gave the government emergency powers.

Hitler Welcomed into Office

Hitler ran for office as president in 1932, however he lost the election. When the current president, Hindenburg passed away in 1934, Hitler abolished the office entirely- this made Hitler become head dictator.

Hitler was influential?

Adolf Hitlers rise to power was nothing but astounding. In just a little over a year, Hitler manipulated the government of Germany and the people. Hitler captivated the minds of everyone he came in contact with. This is evident because he was an amazing speaker who spoke from his heart. He attracted over 11 million followers. He was extremely close to his country.

Hitler- Man of the Year

Hitler was named Man of the Year for the 1938 Times Magazine. He was looked at as a hero in some ways because he was one of the only leaders making progress post WWI and the depression.
Most of Germany did not seem to care that Hitler was using force and dictatorship, because most other countries were trying to solve conflicts peacefully and were making no progress.

The End of Hitler

In the final hours of Hitlers life, he wrote a document left for the German people. After causing destruction on many areas in Europe, sacrificing millions of German lives due to his political demands, and ordering the death of others, Hitler did not display a guilty conscience. Instead, in the letter he blamed the Jews for everythingincluding the war he started. As Germany was left destroyed and defeated by the six years of war it had faced, Hitler decided to commit suicide. But before committing suicide he decided to marry his mistress, Eva Braun on April 29, 1945 in his bunker because she was the only one who had remained loyal to him through everything.

The next day, April 30th 1945 a little after 3:30 p.m., days before Germanys surrender, Hitler shot himself in the head with a 7.65 mm pistol. Hitler committed suicide because he did not want the Russians to imprison him and put him to trial.
