Roles of Teacher

2. Monitoring and Maintenance

How to monitor all the resources:


Pupils must be responsible for every resources. Check pupils before they enter and after they leave the place. Dont allowed the pupils to bring anything in the resource place and provide them with their basic needs (eg pencil, papers, colors and so on) to avoid them to bring out the things from the place. List down the materials they take for their activity in the inventory book. Punish or ask for the replacement for the lost of materials. State rules and regulations and make sure the rules are constantly implements.

Maintenance of Resources

Printed Materials

Enwrap all the printed materials. Ensure the students follow the rules and regulations set by the teacher. Keep the materials in a suitable box/place. Repair if it was torn. Make an inventory as it easy to find.

Manipulative Kits

- Teaching and Learning Aids


Put it suitable place/box. Renew the manipulative kits if it is damaged. Give a penalty if the pupils broke the manipulative kits. Show the right way to use it. List out the things in a form of inventory. 16

Computer Hardware

Familiriazing students with the hardware. Keep the hardware in the correct way (far from water, not in hot condition). List out the things in a form of inventory.

Software Packages

Use the software with knowledge (do not just trial and error). Ensure the pupil not to change the software .

Mathematics Laboratory

Ensure the pupils left their bag outside. Check every students when they left the lab. Repair the broken things. Clean the lab every day. List out the things in a form of inventory.

Mathematics Corner

Ensure the materials is in good condition. Never let the pupils make play with the kits. List out the things in a form of inventory.

3. Planning and Budgeting


Internal classroom environment Maths Corner. Teachers make a meeting with students. - what to do? - places - material ! If possible, use recycle materials (magazines, learning CDs) Devide groups-different group make different topics.

Give them time, teachers help to give ideas. Collect all the materials Together, decorate the maths corner. Add others materials (up date)

External Classroom Environment Activity


Math's Garden

Choose strategic place outside the classroom Use cans / bottles(recycle materials) to plant flowers. Student also can bring seeds from their house Ask parents to help budgetting / cost / expertise

Maths Trail Choose a proper places..It can be in the school compound. - No need to use a lot of costs to go outside. Teachers need to be creative. Can use materials that have in maths lab. ( ex: termometer, weighing scale)

Web site - helps student in maths Ex; problems area (online tutorial) Maths . corner- display, and can develop learning activity for mathematics.

Interactive learning - enhance pupils ability using ICT.

Build interest in pupils (inquiry)

Pupils can easily learn from concrete tools (touch, see and feel)

Study the records and inventory system of the science laboratory in your institute and apply it to manage Mathematics resources. Surf from internet / other resources the sample of planning and budgeting resources in T&L
