Listening skills involve etiquette, asking for clarification, showing empathy and providing an appropriate response It is an active process. When listening, we direct attention to the act of hearing. Listening involves an intention both to hear and to understand what is heard. Hearing may be natural, but listening is a skill.

Use pictures of an action in different stages of completion : one picture of an action in progress, one before the action has taken Place and one indicating that the action is completed
