Problem/need statement:
Managing human resources in todays dynamic environment is becoming more and more complex as well as important. Recognition of people as a valuable resource in the organization has led to increasing trends in employee maintenance, job security, etc.

Scope of the function:- EMPLOYEE EVALUATION
A performance appraisal (PA), performance review, performance evaluation, (career) development discussion, or employee appraisal is a method by which the job performance of an employee is evaluated. Performance appraisals are a part of career development and consist of regular reviews of employee performance within organizations.

A EMPLOYEE EVALUATION is a systematic and periodic process that assesses an individual employees job performance and productivity in relation to certain pre-established criteria and organizational objectives. Other aspects of individual employees are considered as well, such as organizational citizenship behavior accomplishments, potential for future improvement, strengths and weaknesses, etc.

Project objectives:
To carry out the study of performance appraisal/evaluation of employees in Sharda University, we framed the following objectives: 1. Identification of the technique of performance appraisal/evaluation followed in the Sharda University. 2. Employee attitude towards the present appraisal system. 3. Review of the current appraisal system in order to a. Enhance productivity b. Attain global standards

Information gathering:
All the information was gathered from the project guide of sharda university also questionnaire will be conducted from faculty members and employee of Sharda University.

A. Why Performance appraisal system is needed in organization like sharda university. B. Are you satisfied with the existing performance appraisal system in sharda university.

C. Is the performance ratings are done periodically.


D. The performance of the organization is assessed by self, superior .

To collect employee evaluation data, there are three main methods: 1. objective production 2. personnel 3. and judgmental evaluation.

The deliverables in the project are: Assignment 1, Assignment 2, Workshop Report, Assignment 3, Project report The project success criteria was as follows: Cost Schedule Performance Deliverable Submission Review and Approval Gates

Risks as in team project:


Risks from within the group/team.

From within the concerned department in the company.


Incapability to assign task according to persons skills. Delay in the submission of tasks assigned to the group members. The results not matching upto the desired quality expected. There being an increase in the amount of money being spent from initial planned budget.

Risks involved in employee evaluation:Human risk:


PAs are not carried out appropriately/ baised. Negative perceptions.

Technical risks: PAs goals are not clearly set. Consultancy hired for evaluation lacking skilled labour. Loss of data / erroneous feedback.

Operational risks: Errors: PAs not providing accurate and relevant ratings of an employees performance

Financial risks:
Insufficient budget. Over expense.
