FUNCTIONING AND FAULTS FINDING TEST The following test must be executed with the help of the boilers Instructions Manual
REMARK: The lasting check must be executed with a tester on the flow of the , after disconnecting the boiler and after disconnecting the connector relevant to the component or circuit to be tested. For the tests on the electrical components check the connections and the contacts of the connections even if not indicated Move the selector on O Does the green led flash? YES Is the red led off?
YES
NO

NO

Are there 230v between the clamp NO L and N of the clamp board M 5 of the main PCB? YES

Check the 230 v net, the cable and the connections Replace the main PCB

If flashing - Replace the NTC sensor If constantly on - Fill the circuit or replace the loss of water pressure switch

Move the selector on SUMMER Is the green led constantly on? YES Move the DHW selector at maximum and open an hot water tap at maximum. Is there production of hot water? YES

NO

Replace the main PCB

NO NO

Check the water network

Is the regulator behind the water valve closed?

YES

Open the regulator The membrane NO Replace the DHW micro switch of the water valve is dirty or YES Clean or replace the membrane damaged Replace the main PCB

Does the boiler switch on?

NO

Is the contact of the NO DHW micro-switch closed?(electrical continuing between 16 and 20 on the main PCB) YES

YES Does the pump work?

NO

NO Replace the main PCB Are there 230 v between the clamps of the pump? YES Replace the pump

YES
NO

Does the fan work? ( SE models only)

NO

Are there 230 v between the clamps of the fan?

YES

With the boiler off are the contact C and NC of the flue pressure switch closed? Replace the fan

NO

Replace the pressare switch Replace the main PCB if there are not 230v between 8 and 9 of M2, with the boiler on, if off replace the IONO board

YES

YES

Is there the spark on the burner?

NO

NO Are the ignition electrode and its cable dirty or damaged? YES

Replace the IONO board Clean or replace electrode and cable

For the SE models check that the contact between C and NO of the pressare switch is closed, that the pipes are connected and the pressure switch is efficient

YES

Does the burner ignite?

NO

During the ignition process are there NO 230 v on the of the gas valve? ( reset if the boiler goes in block )
YES

Have the 100C safety thermostat NO and the flue thermostat (mod E) the contact closed? YES

Replace the damaged one REMARK: for the flue thermostat check the draught Replace the Iono board

Replace the valve if there is no gas in the network (check of the pressure on the IN plug of the gas valve) Check the regulation of the power of slow ignition and of the minimum power of the gas valve (see the Manual) Is the modulator interrupted or in short circuit? Does the flame stay at minimum or at low power?
NO YES

YES

Does the flame stay in slow ignition for 8 seconds?

YES

NO

Has the power of slow ignition been regulated in the correct way? (see the Instruction Manual )

NO

YES

Replace the main PCB Replace the modulator Regulate the max power on the gas valve, as indicated on the manual Replace the Iono board Clean, regulate or replace the IONO electrode Make the cleaning of the DHW exchanger with specific products

NO

SI

After 8 seconds does the flame move to an higher power?

NO

Does the boiler go in block condition after 10 seconds?

Is the ignition electrode dirty, YES badly regulated or damaged? Does the water flow remain low?

NE

YES

YES

Does the water at the tap get warm?

YES

NO

Is the water flow superior to that allowed by the type of boiler?

NO

YES

YES

Reduce the water flow at the tap or at the regulator Value of the sensor 0C = 33 k 20C = 12,5 k 60C = 2,5 k 80C = 1,3 k

Reduce the water flow at the tap at about NO 5l/min. After some seconds does the flame modulate? YES END OF THE D.H.W. TEST CHECK OF THE HEATING Move the selector in WINTER with the regulation at maxim. NO Does the boiler start working? YES Does the pump start NO working?
YES

Check the NTC sensor resistance And if necessary replace it

Does the NO Regulate the room thermostat room thermosta t ask for YES Make a bridge on the clamps 39 and 40 of M10 of the board: If the heat? boiler works replace the room thermostat. If not replace the main PCB Are the switches 5 and 6 of the board on the pump OFF?
NO YES

Replace the main PCB Regulate the switches

Do the radiators get warm? YES END OF THE TEST

NO

Check that the eventual taps or thermostatic valves in the system are open

1) Put the manometer in the outlet test point of the gas valve 2) Take the instruction manual for consultation
3) Open a DHW tap, and after 10set the maximum pressure ( with tool number 10 )

4) To set the minimum pressure (with screw driver ) after disconnecting one cable of the modulator

5) Regulate the slow ignition.

( left minus - right plus )

You can have 30 seconds available, if you turn the heating trimmer leftwards, till the end of the turn.

( start again the 30 with a power reset ) 6) Regulate the Heating power.
At the maximun power on the rigth or at the desired power.

In order to know the values , see the instruction manual

Warnings for servicing

At the end of each heating period, it is necessary to check the boiler

Normally,it will be necessary to execute the following operations:

Remove any possible oxidation from burners and electrodes Clean the burner air passages and the exchanger Check water and gas connections tightness Check gas consumption at the minimum and maximum output Verify that safety devices are correctly working Verify periodically the good working and efficiency of the outlet duts for the combustion
