CST Test Preparation and Review

About the CST test


The California Standards Tests (CST) are part of California's STAR Testing program. The CSTs are criterion referenced tests. Are aligned to stateadopted content standards in reading, writing, mathematics, history-social science, and science.

How Ive Prepared for the CST


I plan to study more. I plan to do all my homework. I also plan to listen more in all my class. I also plan not to get distracted in class.

How SFMS teachers have prepared me for the CST


They have give us a lot of practice test. They have gave us a test every Friday on the questions. They also have answer all the question that I have a problem on.

Test Taking Tips: The Night and Morning Before.


To Prepare for the test the night before is study. Also another way to prepare is to get enough sleep. Go to bed early. Have breaktfast in the morning.

Test Taking Tips: During the Test.


I plan to not get distracted. I also plan not to fool around in the classroom. Another plan is to concentrate on the test. The last plan is to use my C.S.T strategies.

Math Tips.
Use math strategies like : +, - , x ,-:-. Show your work on the test problems. Ask the math teacher as many question before the Csts. Do as much class work to prepare and so you can know all the answers to the test.

English Tips.
Read the questions before reading the passage. Read all the choices before choosing your answer. Sometimes there is more than one correct For reading passages, look for key words in the question, such as who, what, when, where, If you come to a word in a reading passage you dont know, look for context clues; other words in the sentence or paragraph that help to define or explain the unknown word.

Important facts about your math topic.

Why are the facts so important.


The facts are important because the will help us get to a higher level than basic. Also they will determind what class we will be getting in 8th grade. Also there important because they are 3 main facts that will help us jump bands.

Examples of math problems on the C.s.t.


5x-4+3 3t-8=5 5-:- x = -2 Those are some of the examples of the kind of questions we will be getting on the c.s.t .

Idioms
The topic idioms will also be on the Csts. An example of an idiom is like this one Its raining dogs and cats. In the Csts they will ask us to describe an idiom so if I were to describe it as a run on sentence.
