POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS (PRONOMBRES POSESIVOS)

Indican posesin o pertenencia y corresponde cada uno a cada persona gramatical. Los pronombres se forman a partir de los adjetivos aadiendo una s al adjetivo, excepto en my, mine y en los que ya llevan la s (his, his; its, its). El artculo que en castellano precede al posesivo no se traduce al ingls: This book is mine (Este libro es el mo).

Esto pertenece a John. Es de l. I forgot my book, so Susan gave me hers. Olvid mi libro, entonces Susan me di el suyo. That car belongs to my parents. It's theirs. Ese coche pertenece a mis padres. Es de ellos. Your photos are good. Ours are terrible. Tus fotos son buenas. Las nuestras son terribles.

REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS (PRONOMBRES REFLEXIVOS)

Los pronombres reflexivos se utilizan cuando el Sujeto y el objeto en una oracin son la misma persona. Los pronombres reflexivos terminan en "-Self" (singular) o S" (plural).

They want to create a material that can repair itself. Ellos quieren crear un material que se pueda reparar a s mismo. We can finish the project ourselves. Podemos terminar el proyecto nosotros mismos. As you yourselves can see, this has been very easy. Como ustedes mismos pueden ver, esto ha sido muy fcil. They themselves wrote the article for the newspaper. Ellos mismos escribieron el artculo para el peridico.

INDEFINITE PRONOUNS (PRONOMBRES INDEFINIDOS)

Un pronombre indefinido no se refiere a ninguna persona especfica cosa o cantidad. Es vago y "no definido". Algunos pronombres indefinidos tpicos son:

EXAMPLES
That ice - cream was good. Can I have another? (Ese helado estaba bueno. Puedo tomar otro?) One was tall and the other was short. (Uno era alto y el otro bajo) I don't know anybody/anyone in this city. (No conozco a nadie en esta ciudad)

EXAMPLES
Do you want tea or coffee? / I don't mind. Either is good for me. (Quieres t o caf?/ No me importa. Cualquiera es bueno para m.) It is impossible to know everything. (Es imposible saberlo todo.) John likes coffee but not tea. I think both are good. (A John le gusta el caf pero no el t/ Yo creo que los dos estn buenos)
