How Ive Prepared for the CST

I have studied hardcore on all my struggling subjects like history and science I have been through CST prep in every class I have asked some teachers to help me sometimes

We have been doing CST prep all this week They have been striving to do better They made sure we knew all we needed to know We review everything

The Night Before the CST

The night before the CST, you should probably have a good dinner You might also want to get a good night sleep Study a little before you go to bed, to give you a fresh reminder of what you need to know

Math Tips
Look at the question CAREFULLY Remember as many equations as you can Remember the properties Keep your cool

English Tips
Read the story you need to read; the CST people want to see if your diseplined enough to follow instructions Remember punctuation Remember the parts of speech

Solving Simple Equations

Think the equation as a balance If you do something to one side of the equation, you must do the same to the other side When solving an equation like [x+8=12], you need to get the [x] by itself if a question has an [x] and a [y] then try to use substitution

When it comes to a equation like [ 2x=2], you need to divide 2 to both sides to get the answer If you really have no clue what to do, dont guess aimlessly. Try to eliminate some answers And if all else fails, try and use substitution!

Example
For this example, I will use the equation x+8=12 The first thing you need to do is isolate the x by turning the 8 into a - and subtracting 8 on both sides of the equal sign You should now have x=4 How did I get that answer? I subtracted (-8) and 12

Now for the next example, Im going to use the equation [2x-3=5] You need to isolate the x right? But look! The 3 you need to subtract with 5 with, is already a negative In this situation, the -3 turns into a +3 and you ADD the 3 with the 5 Now, you should have [2x=8], since you added the 3 and the 5 Now you only want the result of one x not 2, so you need to divide the 2 in 2x by 8 The answer should be [x=4]

A simile is a figure of speech It is a comparison that contains the words as and like ex.- her eyes were as green as emeralds
