We use the PRESENT PERFECT

for a period of time that continues from the past until now For example today, this week,since 1967

We use the PAST SIMPLE for

finished time in the past

For example yesterday,last week,

from 1985 to 1991

Past Simple Tense

(in your life, until now )

It didnt rain last week.

I have never visited the USA.

REMEMBER ! Present Perfect Tense - action in the past ( we dont know when ) with a result NOW ( present )

Past Simple Tense - we know exactly when an action happened in the past, it has nothing to do with NOW (present)
