There are three orthographical systems used to this langauge: the Sharada script, the Devanagari script and the Perso-Arabic script. The Roman script is also sometimes informally used to write, especially online. It was traditionally written in the Sharada script after the 8th Century A.D Today it is written in Devanagari script and Perso-Arabic script (with some modifications). Among languages written in the Perso-Arabic script, X is one of the very few which regularly indicates all vowel sounds. This script has been in vogue since the Muslim conquest in India and has been used by the people for centuries. The word order in this language is similar to German and Old English and unlike any other Indo-Aryan language.

Sharabha is a creature in Hindu mythology that is part lion and part bird. Shaiva scriptures narrate that god Shiva assumed the Avatar of Sharabha to tame Narasimha - the fierce man-lion avatar of Vishnuworshipped by Vaishnava sect - into a normal pleasant form representing harmony. This form is popularly known as Sarabeshwara ("Lord Sarabha") or Sharabeshwaramurti. In Buddhism, Sharabha appears in Jataka Tales as a previous birth of the Buddha. The western slope is located in the Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala state, eastern slope in the Tirunelveli District, southern slope of X is located in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu. According to the Mahbhrata, Lord Shiva sent the two saints Vyasa and Agastya, down to Earth, to create the divine languages,Sanskrit and Tamil. Agathiyar(Agastya) came to X and is said to have provided the grammar for Tamil language. After establishing the Sidhar Gnana Koodam center for scientific research, and later traveling throughout the world, spreading the knowledge gained, Agathiyar returned to a spot in X, where he merged into the cosmos. A temple has been built for him at this spot, close to the Papanasam Falls on the banks of the Thamirabarani River. It is said that Sage Agathiyar occasionally gives appearances to sincere aspirants and devotees here.
