Loving Confrontation

Addition Through Subtraction

Mt.18:13-18
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am? So they said, Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. He said to them, But who do you say that I am? Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Jesus Came On A Mission The church is the eklesia of God. The word is ek--out of and klesis--a calling. It was used by the Greeks of the citizen's called out to discuss the business affairs of the city

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. John 17:4-5

This work was the establishing of the church which is His Body (1 Cor.12:27) "The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we dont, the parts we see and the parts we dont. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance." I Cor.12:25-26

Matt.28:18-20
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

Two-Fold Ministry of The Church 1. Make Disciples(evangelism) 2. Edification (Teach them) WHY IS LOVING CONFRONTATION IMPORTANT TO EVANGELISM?

We are responsible to saturate this community with LOVE and demonstrate to the community a UNITY and ONENESS that provide the basis for VERBAL COMMUNICATION. Anything short of that is a disconnection between the message and the messenger which underlies the power(or lack thereof) of the message

Romans 1:1-6
Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Through Him we have received grace.

God is looking for a people whose life line up with the message, and the message is in alignment with your life. That is what you call power! Many have the words right but it takes a life and when you get the two lined up you have a Gospel of power!

How God Changes Us II Kings 5:1-10 Naaman was a great man, but he was a leper! WHEN GOD OFFENDS YOU! Why? Humility is more important than anything!
