Generating Data Files

The program files have come into being in the BAM Server since BAM software installation. You need generate the data files for loading

You may prepare a Man Machine Language (MML) script of the configuration data (data script) and then generate data

files from the script for loading in offline mode

checking Data script Data Script Execution Carry out FMT DATA to generate the data files for loading

Host software

WHPU

WHPU750.VFS, WHPU1200.VFS, WHPULOGC.VFS, WHPUWC.VFS

Generating Data Files

Data file of the WRSS

The data file to be loaded to the WRSS is BNET.dat. When you

prepare a load data file, BNET.dat will be created and saved in the new folder Config under the directory LoadDATA

To load a data file to the WRSS is right to load BNET.dat to the WMPU

Generating Data Files

Data file of the WRBS

The data file of the BSC6800 system is stored as ".dat" file in

the BAM server, When receiving a data load request from a board subsystem, the server will load the corresponding data file to the subsystem

Such data files include the configuration data that will be stored on the WMUX or on the WSPU

The file name of the data file is in the format of HXYABCN.dat

Loading FAM Software

Setting Loading Mode of Program File

Carry out SET LODPARA . Select "WRSS or "WRBS" FLASH)" for [Host code load control]

for

[Subrack Type] and "FLWF (FORCEDLY LOAD AND WRITE

The program files will be loaded from the BAM Server and written to the Flash Memory of the corresponding boards when

the boards start or reset.

Checking Loading

Checking Board State

On the equipment panel

Through an MML command: DSP BRD

The BSC6800 contains two sets of configuration parameters that respectively exist in FAM and BAM. They are both in tables

Carry out ACT CRC to check the data consistency on table level Carry out CMP TBLDATA to check the data consistency on record level

Check that the cell setup procedure, common channel setup

procedure and measurement messages are all normal through the message tracing on a LMT

TFO/TrFO

TFO: Speech information is not coded using code converter if UEs in a mobile-to-mobile call support the same code type as the network. TrFO: The BSC6800 involved in a mobile-to-mobile call supports speeches or multimedia services in TrFO mode. Bandwidth resources can be allocated flexibly to satisfy the requirements of burst PS services. The services can be handed over between dedicated and common channels so that the resources can be fully utilized. On setup of an Radio Resource Control(RRC) connection, the BSC6800 can specify a cell for the User Equipment(UE) to access according to the resource status to increase the access success rate. Importing License File

Import a correct License file as prompted during BAM installation Otherwise, copy the License file to the following directory:

BAM installation directory\LICENSE BAM installation directory\FTP\LICENSE

Activating License File

Activating License File with Reconfiguration of RNC ID and PLMN ID

Carry out SET OFFLINE to switch to the offline mode, and then
reconfigure the RNC ID and PLMN ID accordingly
If the BSC6800 has no basic information, carry out ADD RNCBASIC to add the RNC ID and PLMN ID If the basic information of the BSC6800 is not authorized in the License file, carry out MOD RNCBASIC to modify the RNC ID and PLMN ID as those presented in the License file

Carry out ACT LICENSE to activate license file. BAM will check validity of the file. If valid, the file will be written into the memory of

BAM

To activate the License function in the FAM, carry out RST SYS to reset the BSC6800 system

Activating License File

Activating License File without Reconfiguration of RNC ID and

PLMN ID

Carry out SET ONLINE to switch to the online mode Carry out ACT LICENSE to activate license file. BAM will check validity of the file. If valid, the file will be written into the memory of BAM

Setting Algorithm Switch of Feature

Carry out SET CORRMALGOSWITCH to set an algorithm switch You may set the following classes of algorithm switches using the command:

Channel class algorithm switch Handover algorithm switch

Power control algorithm switch

Traffic combination switch

Introduction

You need also perform commissioning for interface data and dialtests for system services before you put the BSC6800 into normal service

Iub Interface Commissioning

Physical Link Commissioning

Local loop
Set the loopback type of a test E1/T1 link as LOCAL on a LMT using:
SET E1T1LOP if the E1/T1 link is on an E1/T1 trunk SET SDHLOP if the E1/T1 link is on an SDH

Carry out LOP E1T1 on the LMT to initiate a local loopback test for the E1/T1 link Set the loopback type of the test E1/T1 link as NOLOOP on the LMT When performing a loopback test for an E1/T1 link in an IMA group, be

sure to carry out RST IMAGRP to reset the IMA group after the loopback
test

Iub Interface Commissioning

Physical Link Commissioning

Combined loop
Set the loopback type of a test E1/T1 link as REMOTE in the operation and maintenance system at the peer end Carry out LOP E1T1 on a LMT to initiate a combined loopback test for the E1/T1 link.

Iub Interface Commissioning

Control Plane Commissioning

Carry out DSP SAALLNK to check that all Signaling ATM Adaptation Layer (SAAL) links are available

Carry out DSP IUBP to check that the NCP link and all CCP links are

available

Carry out DSP AAL2ADJNODE to check that the adjacent node of NodeB is available

Iub Interface Commissioning

User Plane Commissioning

Carry out DSP AAL2PATH to check that the AAL2 path(s) to a specified adjacent node is/are functional

Iu Interface Commissioning

Physical Link Commissioning Control Plane Commissioning

Carry out DSP SAALLNK to check that all SAAL links are available. Carry out DSP MTP3BLNK to check that all MTP3b links are available. Carry out DSP SSN to check that all SCCP subsystems are available.

User Plane Commissioning

Iur Interface Commissioning

The commissioning of an Iur interface is similar to that of an Iu interface.

You need also check that the IP routes of the BSC6800 to other Radio Network Controllers (RNCs) are available for supporting lossless relocation. Carry out PNG IPADDR on a LMT to check the

connectivity of an IPoA to another RNC
