1 Elements of design Elements of the design affects the visual appearance of the design, therefore, elements and principles of design defines the space aesthetically. Line A fundamental mark or stroke used in drawing in which the length is longer than the width. It is straight and has two connected points form a line and every line has a length, width, and direction it is straight. Form Form is any three dimensional object that defines a space Space Space is concerned with the area the design will take place on.

Texture The way a surface feels or is perceived to feel. Color Color is the visual perceptual property. Pattern Pattern is an arrangement of repeated or corresponding parts.

1.2 Methods of changing line Lines may differ by giving width, direction, color and position in a design. Width may define emphasis in a design because of its thickness, direction and position may define movement in a design. Color also shows thickness of a line, warm colors represents thick lines while cool colors represents thin lines.

1.3 Function of a line Lines in a design may give different impressions to a person; it may give different moods by having different thickness and direction. Lines may give different visual perception because of their differences. Horizontal lines symbolizes rest, relaxation and stability. Vertical lines are lines that give the design an appearance of strength and power. Curved lines are lines that give the design an impression of gracefulness. Diagonal lines are dynamic and action-oriented.

Since lines can be straight, curved, or irregularly shaped, you can also think of a line as the track of a point in motion, but one should also consider the position, direction and width of a line because it gives more emphasis and movement to a design.

1.4 Effect of form

Forms may give different impressions to a design according to its composition. There are different types of forms; there are cubes, pyramids, rectangles, circles and other irregular-shaped form. Cubes and rectangles are forms that shows stability and strength (security, stability)

Pyramids are forms that shows strength and power (power, success) Circle and Spheres are forms that shows circulation and cycle ( relaxation, freedom)

1.5 Space To explore space and its relationship to interior design By just putting furniture in proper places to show how spaces can accommodate of it and to show how will it look and how the children move in the room. Can they move well?, Are they comfortable?

1.6 Texture To create more fashion in the design, thinking how will children will appreciate the design.

Perspective

1.7 To explore pattern and its effects on designs By just designing the wall more playful and more colorful , and more on making good looking design.

1.9 To identify and use the vocabulary of colour. By just using the three major color, and not using all color that we have. If theres too many color its no good in our eyes. Just a simple color but attractive.

1.11 List the factors that would affect the choice of a colour scheme
By just using the three major color, and not using all color that we have. If theres too many color its no good in our eyes. Just a simple color but attractive.

To examine the types of applied design or pattern. List and discuss types of applied designs: naturalistic organic Geometric Made with the use of lines, stripes, plaids and geometric shapes. Used in modern and traditional designs Abstract -

1.14 To identify the type of balance and the visual effect created by types of balance in the overall appearance of a room. Balance - gives a feeling of equilibrium. Outline the types of balance: symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial balance. Display some illustrations of each and compare the effect achieved by each. Discuss how the use of color or light, texture, and size of the object may be used to establish visual weight in asymmetrical balance. Show examples to illustrate this effect. Discuss the mood created by using each type of balance.

1.15 To examine scale and the effective use of scale in buildings today. (NUM) Define proportion and scale and identify how they are used today in a design setting. Talk about the golden mean as a standard of proportion and cite examples to illustrate this principle.

1.16 To clarify the meaning of rhythm and the way it can be used effectively in design. (CCT) Define rhythm. Rhythm is used to create a feeling of movement in a design. Make a list of the ways of obtaining rhythm: alternation radiation repetition contrast/opposition progression/gradation transition Find examples that illustrate rhythm and discuss the effect each has on the design. Compare the feeling created by each type of rhythm. Show how rhythm is used to guide focus in a room.

1.17 To define emphasis and how it can be established in a design setting.

By just making the wall more compassionate to the furniture and how it will looks like , if the wall is good in that furniture, if the wall design is proper for kids.

1.18 To understand unity/harmony and how it may be achieved in interior design.

The design of the room must gives that childrens mood in good vibes. Design will set them and let them have good harmony.
