Focusing on the slides or graphics and not the audience. Not having a clear connection to the main points of the talk. Reading the points instead of providing the highlights about them.

Include one idea or concept per slide. Develop a title or heading for each visual. List key words or phrases. Follow the rule of six. Use upper lower case letters. Design visuals to be seen by the back row. When in doubt, leave it out.

Come prepared. Recognise that nervousness can be a positive motivator. Use notes to help. If you stumble, move ahead. Dont point out that you are nervous.
