Public speaking is more highly structured. Public speaking requires more formal language. Public speaking requires a different method of delivery.

PREPARING USEFUL VISUAL AIDS

Include one idea or concept per slide. Develop a title or heading for each visual. List key words or phrases. Follow the rule of six. Use upper lower case letters. Design visuals to be seen by the back row. When in doubt, leave it out.

Determine when you want to receive questions Listen closely to the questions Be direct and concise in your answers Use your answers to reinforce key points on your core message Be positive in your responses, both verbally and non verbally. Positively reinforce the asking questions Dont make it up if you dont know the answer.
