What kind of traditions did they have in the church in Pauls day? What kind of traditions do we have today? Galatians 2:1-10 What tradition is being discussed by Paul in these verses?

Paul refuses to force Titus to be circumcised. Acts 16:1-5 Does Paul demonstrate a double standard on circumcision? Why did he react differently with Timothy versus Titus?

Titus was a pure Greek. Timothy was half Greek and half Jewish. Those Paul resisted were false brothers. Those to whom Paul catered were unbelieving Jews. With Titus, a theological issue was being debated. With Timothy, unbelieving Jews were being converted. I Corinthians 9:19-23

So what place should traditions occupy? i.e. What level of importance should be placed on traditions? Is it traditions that give Scripture its authority or vice versa? Paul stated he would not yield in subjection for even an hour. How do we decide when to yield submission and when not? If traditions have no saving value, why keep them?
