OUTSOURCING- HR ACTIVITIES
Recruitment and Selection done by KPSC. All the other activities taken up by KSRTC personnel management department. In case of shortage of workforce in HR department

APPRAISAL METHODS
No clear appraisal method adopted Yearly increments given to all the employees Credentials, black marks and other details maintained as employee records. These records decide the promotions and annual bonuses.

PROMOTION
Given only in case of a vacancy/requirement. Single-level promotions are given. Consistently high performance is a requisite for promotions. Influence of trade union is significant, when it comes to promotions.

Provision for generating basic reports acts as a reference for performance appraisal. KSRTC is planning to shift to a complete online system of data storage and analysis.

LABOR LAWS
Combination of Kerala service rules and company laws. Specific laws regarding dress code , medical facilities to be provided, hours of work . No employee is needed to work for more than 8hrs/day or 48hrs/week, except in case of emergencies. Extra wages are provided for overtime work, under Wages Act.
