    This project report summarizes optimizations made to finished goods loading and warehouse management for ITC Munger. The report found that truck loading could be optimized to increase capacity.     PROJECT REPORT ON OPTIMIZATION OF FINISHED GOODS & WMS FOR ITC MUNGER

    COMPANY BACKGROUND
    ITC was established on August 24, 1910 as the Imperial Tobacco Company of India Limited in Kolkata. Initially, the company was involved in the trading of imported cigarettes. 1974 The Company's ownership progressively Indianised, and the name of the Company was changed to ITC Limited (Indian tobacco company).

    In 1975, I.T.C. Ltd., through ITC-Welcome group, tied up with the US-based Sheraton Corporation to enter the hospitality industry. It acquired its first hotel in Chennai in Tamil Nadu and called it the Welcome group Chola Sheraton.

    In 1990, I.T.C. Ltd. set up an International Business Division (IBD) for export of agricommodities. In the same year, I.T.C. also entered the fashion retailing business by extending its well known cigarette brand Wills. The retail outlets were called Wills Lifestyle. In 2001, ITC made an entry into the foods business. In late 2007, ITC launched Fiama Di Wills soaps and shampoos.

    OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

    PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

    To optimize the truck loading of finished goods in shipping department at ITC Munger

    SECONDARY OBJECTIVE

    To know about Logistics Industries

    FINDINGS
    The company mainly uses three types of truck for shipping i.e. 24 feet, 28 feet and 32 feet truck. The amounts of CFC shipped in different truck are: For 24 feet 420 CFC 28 feet 500 CFC 32 feet 665 CFC The work given to me was how to make different arrangements so that the optimized value could be achieved.

    MAJOR LEARNINGS
    This project has provided me with good exposure to actual working environment of an organization. Working in the logistics department has helped me to know how the logistics works in actual scenario.

    RECOMMENDATIONS
    The recommended data for loading in different trucks are given below. By using these data the company should reduce its transportation charges. Optimization for 24 feet truck in flack filter.
