Description

https://psychologyofeating.online/ss/ Are you ready to transform your relationship with food in a lasting and meaningful way? What if you could help others find the path to greater freedom and joy with food as well?    In Session With Marc David: Letting Go Of Perfection   In this episode of The Psychology of Eating Podcast, Marc David talks to Ashley, a 30-year old woman from Australia. Ashley wants to lose 20 kilos, but even more importantly, she wants to become a mother. In the course of their conversation, Marc helps Ashley identify some perfectionistic tendencies that have caused her to believe that she can’t become a mother until she first loses weight and resolves some early traumatic experiences. Watch as Ashley’s mind opens to what’s truly possible for her… once she allows for the human imperfections and messiness that make life beautiful.   Key Insights: Perfectionism often has its roots in fear. As we learn to be more accepting of our perceived flaws and wounds, we paradoxically relax, let go, and begin to live from a more trusting place. Learning to live with our imperfections means being able to embrace some of the messiness of life. We are all works in progress. None of us is perfect. And that’s perfectly OK.  Often we put conditions on our life. Meaning, “I’ll do X once I’ve done Y.” The problem is these conditions can be perpetual to the point where we never actually get what we truly want. One of the most powerful things we can do in life is to recognize what our hearts most desire, and go after that passionately and without delay.  Extra weight doesn’t always represent unresolved trauma or mean that we’re holding onto something “bad.” Sometimes, the only real problem is the beliefs that we hold about what that weight represents. With his dual training in clinical nutrition and psychology, Marc David has spent the last 40 years helping people around the world heal their relationship with food. As the founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, he reaches millions each year through his books, speaking engagements, celebrated podcast series, and his internationally-acclaimed Mind Body Eating Coach Certification Training.    Having your own challenges with food and body?
