Today on the podcast we’re handing things over to Heinemann Fellow Julia Kwon Jee. Julie is in the final year of her fellowship, and currently teaches high school literature, writing composition, and AP English literature in LaGrangeville, New York. She is dedicated to creating safe classroom environments where students flourish and become lifelong readers and writers.In today’s episode, Julie is joined by some of her former students who have since entered college. They reflect on how diversity showed up during their time in high school, and contrast that with their experiences in college.
