Description

Holistic Approach to Making Peace with Food and Body Two questions that keep coming back from new members in our community:  What does it mean to Go Beyond The Food?  And then...   Why would I need to Go Beyond The Food?  These are GOOD questions and to be honest, a very good starting point for us to have a  very powerful conversation.   To answer these 2 questions, we must first recognize that for most of us, women, we’ve been trained since a young age via Diet Culture to seek a diet solution to our “food issues, weight and body” within the constraints of our physical body. The solution being to a-beat our body into shape and b-restrict our food. Ultimately, we’ve been deeply trained to believe that getting a thinner physical body would bring us health and happiness.  Yet it doesn’t work. We know that and hence why you and  I  are  here...   Why doesn’t it work? Because our relationship to food and body doesn’t stem only from our physical body. Our desire to eat and shame ourselves originate from our mind, emotions, and spirit.  That’s what I’ve found through my own struggle and later on what my training and education have taught me. The 4 layers of the human being are what we address in the Going Beyond The Food Method. It stems from a very old body of works in Holistic health.  That’s what we will dive into today... We first going to talk about Mental body. Episodes 178-179-180 will address the other 4 bodies and 181 will talk about a unique aspect of human that has a tremendous impact our why we urge to eat or self-destruct via body shaming: our nervous system.  Let’s start today by exploring the mental body and its impact on the way we engage with food and body.  In this episode I discuss The Mental Body: It's impact on the way we engage with food and our body The reason why individuals develop eating disorder The process on how to come back to ourselves from our false selves What feel to heal means in relation to how you engage with food and your body Last episode was an interview with a another holistic nutritionist who has a unique way of looking into meeting our daily needs.  That’s what Rachel Molenda refers to as filling your cup. Rachel inspires women to take action to meet their daily needs so that they don’t use food to fill the lack of self-care. Rachel will inspire you in this episode by sharing how prioritizing your needs is instrumental to showing up the best version of you. Click here!
