CREW: Office of Management and Budget (OMB): Regarding For-Profit Education Regulations

On March 17, 2011, CREW sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) seeking documents that would shed light on OMB’s role in the regulations proposed by the Department of Education governing the for-profit education industry. Currently Education has delayed issuance of the highly contentious “gainful employment regulations,” and CREW seeks to learn in part what role, if any, OMB had in that decision.
