A big thank you to all the parents who responded to the Reception Induction Survey which was sent out recently. 35 out of 60 parents responded. There was an overwhelmingly positive response to the information provided at the induction meeting and classroom visits held before the children started school. The opportunity for home visits was also very much valued with comments such as lovely, my child was a lot more confident in his own home and this was brilliant-it was just as important for me as for my daughter, I really appreciated the visit. The staggered entry arrangements gave rise to a variety of responses shown below. The key word, reading record and contact books were appreciated as was the planning information for the coming term. The school newsletters are very popular with comments such as fantastic way to keep completely up to date. Staff were felt to be very accessible and our office staff give a great first impression of the school. Thank you again to all who gave up time to give us feedback.

We askedReception parents what they thought about the school entry arrangements You saidI thought this was a genius idea- other schools should follow
this example, difficult for working parents, too long for some children and this arrangement is needed for the children.

And we didAs a result of some of these comments we are trailling

a shorter staggered entry period in September. P ou M ou o o . ju oo ou fo o M F o f o u . A oo , o o fo u fo u o o of o D o u . P fo u o o u ou ,

And finally.......Mrs Devaux It is very great sadness that we heard that Mrs Devaux died last week. She came to Brampton from Gravel Hill in September 1989 and taught here until her retirement in 1998, for many years taking a Year 3 class. She was responsible for Geography in the school and was responsible for Brampton gaining our first Healthy School Award. On her retirement she donated one of the large wooden planters that children and parents used to sit around on the junior playgrounds. Our deepest sympathies to her families and friends. Remember if you like what were doing tell us and others! If you dont, please help us improve! School Office; 020 8303 2873 Fax; 020 8298 0286 Email:admin@brampton.bexley.sch.uk
