Relevant coursework: Fluid mechanics, Introduction to CFD, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Engineering
Design, Optimal Engineering design, Methods of Manufacturing, Digital Human modeling, Image processing, Cardiovascular fluid mechanics, Medical instrumentation.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Cardiovascular mechanics lab, Texas Tech University.
Jan 2012 - May 2012
Research Assistant Used the software GAMBIT to create 3D geometric models and mesh of the left ventricle with and without implanted plates, using techniques of dynamic mesh and UDF-controlled motion. Analyzed flow through the geometric regimes, using the finite volume method, using the software FLUENT. Assessed the simulated flow by using Tecplot and other post-processing software. Recommended changes to the plate design, based on data from the analysis. Highlights Completed the thesis "Changes in fluid dynamics of an ischemic left ventricle caused by an implanted coaptation plate in the mitral valve". Working on publication "Investigation of energy storage in the left ventricle during diastole, with implanted plate".
Note: I have been associated with the Cardiovascular mechanics lab from Sep 2010, for my research. I was officially employed as a research assistant from January 2012.
Teaching Assistant Academic instructor for the course 'Precalculus'. Administered tests and handled assessment for Upperclassmen level mechanical engineering courses: 'Statics'
Srikumar Krishnamoorthy
'Fluid mechanics'.

Gas Turbine Research Enterprise , Bangalore , India Dec 2009 - Feb 2010 CFD Intern Used UGNX in the generation of geometry of a gas-turbine intercasing duct, and mesh, using IGG. Simulated flow in the region using the FINE module. Post-processing using the CFView module. Suggested improvements to design based on results of analysis. M/S Brakes India Ltd , Chennai , India Aug 2008 Intern Learned the assembly of automobile brakes, with an emphasis on parking brakes.
