EUA-CAMBOJA

US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was to leave for Europe, Asia and the Middle East Thursday including a four-day visit to Cambodia, the State Department said. A statement said Clinton would visit Vietnam and Laos before arriving in Phnom Penh next Wednesday for events related to the annual meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers. Clinton is scheduled to take part in the ASEAN Regional Forum, the East Asia Foreign Ministers Meeting and the US-ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference.

Amending the Constitution to allow a new one to be written is the "destruction of the current charter and violation of the principles of democracy", law professor Suraphol Nitikraipot said yesterday - the first day of the Constitution Court trial against the proponents of the amendment bills. Suraphol, former rector of Thammasat University who is a key witness for the petitioners, said the post-coup Constitution of 2007 was the only one that was endorsed by the public in a nationwide referndum.

FILIPINAS-CHINA
The Philippines on Wednesday protested Chinas move placing virtually the entire West Philippine Sea (South China Sea), including the Philippine territory of Macclesfield Bank and its surrounding waters, under the jurisdiction of a newly created city.

LAOS-VIETNAME
Laos and Vietnam have identified 787 locations for border markers, equal to 94 per cent of the total, with 658 markers having been installed so far. Starting in 2008, the project aims to install more than 800 additional border markers along the common border between Laos and Vietnam to more clearly define the boundary.

CHINA-CUBA
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with visiting President of Cuba's Council of State and the Council of Ministers Raul Castro Ruz in Beijing on Friday, calling for expanded win-win

cooperation in such areas as trade, agriculture, technology, energy and infrastructure.
