PREFACE
Projects are an indispensable part of any kind of formal education. They help us to have a practical exposure as well as better outlook of the subject, which we are studying. In a professional course like M.B.A, the students are equipped with strong theoretical knowledge about the business operations and the time-tested methods of running a successful business. To make this theoretical knowledge stronger, the students are assigned certain projects in various organizations to get an idea of the practical working styles. I was assigned to work in OMG FOOD PRODUCT PVT. LIMITED, CINNAMARA. The topic of study was A Study on retail network on various Gattani biscuits products on Jorhat market. The Project commenced from the 1st June of 2011 to 31st July 2011. In order to make the data and findings easily understandable, efforts have been made to present the information in a simplified, lucid and organized manner. Wherever possible, tables and figures have been incorporated. Suggestion and Recommendations have been made on the basis of findings here in. It gives me immense practical exposure to the practical working patterns and the environment. I will be satisfied if the organization gets benefit from the study and the findings.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Title of the Project: A Study on retail network on various Gattani biscuits products on Jorhat market Objectives of the study:
1. To identify the retail network of Gattani biscuit product. 2. T o identify the problem relating to the network and sells of the biscuit product of Gattani Biscuit Pvt. Ltd.

Research Methodology: Research plan: The survey was conducted in Jorhat Market which includes Chamber
Road, Rahman Road and A.T.Road etc with the help of Interview Scheduled.

Sources of data: Primary data: Interview Scheduled, Personal Visit, Telephonic conversation. Secondary data: Books, Internet. Sample size: The sample size is 19 retailers.

Sampling Procedure: A Convenience sampling procedure was used to collect the


sample.
