The church of Jesus Christ was built on the foundation of

apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:19-20) These leaders had
divine priesthood authority, received by the laying on of
hands by those who had been given authority from on high.
Today, we believe in the same organization that existed in
the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors,
teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
