PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Energy Asset Management (EAM) trains students in the business side of the oil and gas industry. Students learn all functions within the industry (including an appreciation for the technical side of the business), and will graduate with relevant skill in the administration of the regulatory, financial, and contractual compliance workflow pertaining to energy industry assets. The Energy Asset Management program focuses on five areas that are involved in the asset management life cycle. PROGRAM LENGTH
Two-year program, consisting of four 15-week semesters. Fall start. Full-time study.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Alberta High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 50% in the following courses or their equivalents: Pure Math 30, Applied Math 30, or Math 31, English Language Arts 30-1 or English Language Arts 30-2. For complete admission requirements visit sait.ca.
YOUR CAREER
As an Energy Asset Management graduate you can work in the non-technical or business side of the energy industry and deal with contracts, leases, regulatory obligations, and accounting tasks; reporting to partners, management, and government. You will have career opportunities in the petroleum industry, which may involve working for energy service companies, government departments, and in field operations. Types of starting positions may include: Junior Mineral Land Analyst, Junior Field Administrator, Junior Production/Cost/Field Analyst, Junior Surface Land Analyst, Junior Royalty Accountant, Junior Revenue/Royalty Analyst, Junior Joint Interest Analyst, Junior Mineral Fee Title Analyst, and Junior Well/Facility Asset Technician. Energy Asset Management graduates are skilled in problem solving and negotiation, have a high attention to detail, are proficient with a variety of computer applications, and are able to multi-task.
