90 82 47 39 (plastic event holder in the caf) are the table tents effective/do you read them? Do you get info from promotional stunts (Y/N)? Whats a promotional stunt that youve seen? QU101 survey and field research Do you read the chronicle, if so, have you seen any ads for SPB events in there? (y/n) QU101 survey. This is ineffective we should not use this media

Add this item to survey- have you ever gone to an event after reading an SPB calendar (by caf/bookstore).
Note judging events based on the above criteria proved non-beneficial to us because students will not attend an event that does not interest them, even if there is food/prizes present. In depth questions Questions Do you know that SPB has events every Friday and Saturday from 8-10pm? Do you think SPB meets the needs of the students? Do you think SPB should plan events during the week? Do you know about the SPB website www.spbwhatsup.com? Would you visit the website if you knew about it? Do you think SPB advertises enough? Do you think SPB should co-sponsor events more often? Would you like to be added to the email list? Yes 109 149 100 60 146 131 118 20 No 70 28 75 115 43 48 45 119
Similar results to the previous survey, some improvement, more people know that SPB programs 8-10 PM Fri and Sat.
Top results Forgot they were going on o How do we remind people closer to day of the event? Had other plans Did not know about them Live on York Hill/Whitney Village/was not on campus Not interested/events seemed boring Do not want to go alone Too lazy to leave room Day/time not convenient
This shows the promo stunts either arent effective, or dont occur enough for the student body to see them and recognize them.
This question is used to follow up and better understand how we can improve the SPB stunts. While some students have seen the stunts, they dont understand them, our message needs to be clearer. o Most people saw the bee o Other stunts confused students, they didnt understand what was going on
Unlike the previous survey, more students are reading the chronicle and this may be a growing opportunity to put ads in the chronicle to advertise for events and have students see them. Perhaps the readers have grown because the Chronicle is doing a better job this year than last year.
This shows promise, that about half the student body which does read the chronicle, half of them do see our ads, this means there is a growing opportunity that this will continue to work. Therefore, reaching one quarter of the student population.
An overwhelming amount of the student body read the caf posters, we should continue to do this, even though it is common, it is effective. Perhaps work on making your caf posters sand out more, you can purchase in-expensive banners from www.shindigz.com
This is a new item we have introduced in promotions and is receiving growing attention because it stands out and it is different and large and students can not miss it. As it becomes a common item that is always in the caf, I believe it will continue to receive more attention.
This is also a new addition to promotions and is receiving some attention, as we continue to utilize it, the students awareness will hopefully increase and it will remain an effective item to use for promotions.

This is a huge success and we should continue to make sure the SPB events are always in the events e-mail and that they always receive a little extra attention, whether it is ensuring the background is advertising for an SPB event, making the event titles bolder, making them clickable or anything else we can do.
The students think they stand out a bit more than other events, they might be confused as to which events are SPB event, so perhaps we can reinforce this by putting our logo near them?
11
We need to do more to encourage students to click on the events to visit the website or to view the You Tube videos for upcoming speakers and comedians.
The SPB website is not well known by the student body and does not receive much traffic, perhaps we need to make the information on the website more pertinent to the students.
12
Facebook is still the most used and known network we have and is still being utilize, we need to further utilize our other networks to ensure the student body can stay in contact with us. In the prior year 60 students said they were aware of the website.
13
The facebook is the most visited, followed by the website; SPB should continue to grow the other websites.
We have determined that this was not good wording in the question and we should ask if they have every gathered information for an event based on what they saw on the calendars or if they are aware that there is SPB information on these calendars and where the calendars are located.

A significant amount of students do read the table tents in the caf, however not as many as one might expect. Surprisingly less students look at the table tents than at the caf posters, perhaps it should be better specified what the table tents are and see if that changes the results?
This is a consistent response which we also saw in the previous years survey where 131 students said yes and 48 said no. This has shown a small increase that student believe we do advertise enough, while about 20% still think we should do more advertising, our efforts have been recognized.
15
The Students do think that we meet their needs, similar to the results we saw the previous year where 149 students answered yes and 28 answered no, you can see we have further improved our efforts as more students believe we are meeting their needs. This shows strong success over the years and continuous improvement.
