PROCEDURE 3.1 Use a large container or drum enough to immerse the liquid nitrogen of the parts to be installed. Use water to rinse out the inside of the drum surface. Remove traces of oil, varnish, wax and other foreign substances with a clean rag. The container or drum should have a loose fitting lid that should prevent the escape of the nitrogen gas during the immersion process. Wrap the external metal container sides with a curved sheet of cardboard line with thermal wool from top to bottom with duct tape. The cardboard and thermal wool will serve as insulation to the liquefied nitrogen. Place the container or drum on some blocks of wood and test its stability. This is to ensure that the container or drum does not topple with the liquefied nitrogen during the immersion process.
