Step 1: Applying the Release Update Pack

To apply RUP6, follow these steps. If you are upgrading from 11i to Release 12.0, complete the upgrade, including the post-upgrade steps, before you apply RUP6. 1. Use AutoPatch to apply R12.AD.A.DELTA.6 (patch 7305220) before you complete any of the other steps in this section. Do not merge this patch with any other patch. R12.AD.A.DELTA.6 must be applied separately. Refer to Oracle Applications DBA Software Updates, Release 12.0.6 (Doc ID: 736655.1) for more information about R12.AD.A.DELTA.6. 2. Use AutoPatch to apply RUP6 (patch 6728000) and follow the instructions in the patch readme file. 3. Use AutoPatch to apply the latest consolidated online help patch (7109200) and follow the instructions in the patch readme file.

Step 1.1 Patch 7305220

Pre-install Tasks Run the adgrants.sql script as a user that can connect as SYSDBA to grant privileges to selected SYS objects and create PL/SQL profiler objects. Usage: (Time duration for this is maximum 2 hours) 1. Create $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin on the database server. 2. Copy adgrants.sql (UNIX) from this patch directory to $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin. 3. Set the environment to point to ORACLE_HOME on the database server. 4. Use SQL*Plus to run the script: UNIX: $ sqlplus /nolog SQL> connect / as sysdba SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin/adgrants.sql <APPLSYS schema name> Apply patch 6767273

Then Source the Applications environment file Run the Patch Application Assistant by entering "admsi.pl".

Step 1.2 Apply Patch 6728000: Run the Patch Application Assistant by entering "admsi.pl".

Then apply AD Patch using VNC server so that even net connection failure you wont face patch failure. Step 1.3 apply the latest consolidated online help patch (7109200)

Step 3: Post update steps.

After you have updated to Release 12.0.6, perform the following post-update steps to update all database tier nodes with the code level provided by RUP6: Application tier:
As the APPLMGR user, run the environment file for the current APPL_TOP. . ./<APPL_TOP>/APPS<CONTEXT_NAME>.env

Run AutoConfig on the APPL_TOP. Run the admkappsutil.pl utility to create the file appsutil.zip in the <INST_TOP>/admin/out directory.

As the ORACLE user, run the environment file for the current ORACLE_HOME.

Database tier and application tier: Re-run adpreclone.pl on the database tier and the applications tier.
