AL-HIKAM II KULLIYATUL QURAN COLLEGE ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL for UNIVERSITY STUDENT AL-HIKAM JAKARTA

In this modern era, Indonesian moslems are not only required to respond quickly and react based on mastering and understanding comprehensively about Islamic content which is in the holy Quran, Sunnah and from Ulama, but also required to analyze every social phenomena which is directly contiguous in moslems daily life. To develop this competency, effort to create moslem cadres that are able to understand Islam comprehensively as developed society social and cultural background. Actually, Indonesian Moslems have big potency to answer the challenge. But, this potency has not utilized by perfect educational program which is well designed. The other potency of Indonesian moslems that has not utilized well is many of Moslem cadres that have memorized Quran in Islamic schools. This is not equal with contribution that they give to social life. Whereas, if they are utilized well, they will be Moslem cadres that are not only able to understand Quran well, but also able to answer the challenge and fulfill Moslems need lately. Decission to utilize teenagers who have memorized Quran is based on reality that they have potency and weakness. Their potency will be directed and managed by training programs and education that is planned well. It can be main power to answer the challenge that they meet and to fulfill people need, while their weakness can be reference to optimize their potency. Their potencies are : First, they that are 18-23 years old, commonly are very pious. Piousness is very important, especially if accompanied by intelligence and knowledge. Second, they have good memory. It is necessary to learn many things about Islam that need not only logic, but also memory. Third, by piousness that they have had,

they have been ready to struggle with much sincerity for their religion and people. Fourth, potency that they have is very rare and very diffucult to find in many formal education institution graduates in Indonesia. Besides they have potency, they also have weakness : First, usually their memorizing ability is still textual. They have not understood well contents of Quran. Usually, they are utilized in ceremonial. Indeed it is good for Islam magnificence, but it is regretted considering their age that are relatively still very young and still possible to understand the content of Quran text for people needs. Third, usually they only memorize Quran without learning other Islamic lessons. So, they will not have orientation to continue their education after memorizing Quran. Fourth, Usually they are from family that are poor in economy and social. So, it is impossible to enter higher education that needs much cost. By their weakness and excess, it is necessary to make an institution of high education with low cost that is possible for them to gain higher education for developing their potency, so they can participate in developing and applying Islamic science in social life that is always developed. To answer this challenge, Al-Hikam Islamic Boarding School-Depok struggle to build an Islamic higher education that is named Sekolah Tinggi Kulliyatul Quran Al-Hikam Depok. It is an institution that is aimed to develop Moslem cadres that have memorized Quran to develop their knowledge. So, they can participate actively for people. VISIONS Becoming Sekolah Tinggi Kulliyatul Quran Depok as one of Islamic higher education that is leading in developing, deepening, and applying Islamic science especially for them who have already memorized Quran and integrate with other sciences. MISSIONS 1. Developing the quality of them who have memorized Quran to understand the content of Quran.

2. Developing the competency of them who have memorized Quran by mastering basic knowledge or languages, spreading Islam methods and developing knowledge. 3. Developing their knowledge to be able in participating in social life by talim, tarbiyah, and irsyad activity. PROFILE AIM AND GRADUATE PROSPECT Sekolah Tinggi Kulliyatul Quran Al-Hikam is expected to produce graduate that mastering contents of Quranand Islamic science, so they able to apply in society life. STUDENTS RECRUITMENT 1. The recruitment will be held in each province by testing. From the test result, two students will be choosen from all provinces in Java island and one student will be choosen from all provinces that are outside Java island. 2. The students recruitment will be held by Jamiatul Quro wal Huffadz atau pengurus NU setempat. STUDENT CRITERIA 1. Student has already finished memorizing Quran 30 juz. 2. Student has SLTA certificate. 3. Student is 18-23 years old.

CURRICULUM STRUCTURE Learning process in Sekolah Tinggi Kulliyatul Quran Al-Hikam Depok will take five years that is divided by ten semester. From the first semester until the eighth semester, students will learn some lessons that are relevant with expected competency. Then, in the

ninth semester student will attend practical learning with practice in real situations and in the tenth semester student will make a thesis. 1. Curriculum and syllabus Generally, Curriculum in Sekolah Tinggi Kulliyatul Quran Al-Hikam is divided into two part that are one unity that is integral, that is intra and extra curricular. 2. Intra Curricular Intra curricular is activity that is designed as the instructional aims. This activity is considered by the weight of student lecture, that is two credits lecture is equal to 100 minutes meeting, 100 minutes structured assignment, and 100 minutes personal assignment. The lecturer will responsible to this activity and will be help by assistant (if exist). Intra curricular activity will be held by considering some learning aspect that is democratic and collegial.
