Amusement Park
The fun begins when you reach the first terrace where mini train, swan boats, hara kiri and children rides are waiting for you to offer a memorable fun. First Terrace has following fun things:

MINI TOY TRAIN: Offers you an exciting ride around the

lake.

SWAN BOATS: After passing over the arched bridge you

land up in the island. There are ample numbers of old tree stumps for you to sit while you are waiting for your turn to embark on the swan boats. Taking a ride in a pedaled boat is an unforgettable experience by itself.

KARA KIRI: on the far end is a long trough on the cliff that
brings you sliding down from the mountain with such a speed that your breath is stuck in the throat till you touch the ground with a splash. The first terrace has plenty of children rides with snacks counter nearby. Just stuff few ten rupees notes in their pockets so that they too have the enjoyment of becoming adults or the time being.

TWISTER:

FRISBEE: A unique ride having tall tabular supports

on which swings the entire structure along with its load of about 20 persons. You will enjoy the motion so much that you will like to repeat it over and over again.

BREAK DANCE: The dance is performed by the

ride itself while you are sitting on it and enjoying the circular and tangential movement. Believe you me. Here we provide you the car which you can strike against each other or against the embankment to your hearts pleasure. You will certainly not like to have even a single scratch to your own car, but here you can enjoy the thrill of striking against each other and without fear of an injury to you, experience the awe of an impact.

STRIKING CARS:

40 PIGEONS: It is one of the biggest rides on which

such a large gathering is taken for a ride on the back of the pigeons in one go. There are two circular movements taking place independent of each other. While the base moves parallel to the earth surface, the arms moves separately in the four directions.

REVOLVONG TOWERS: The circular base rises up against the tower with you on it. When it reaches the full height of the tower, the base reels down in one go and rests on its pedestal. THE ROPE WAY: While you are on the third terrace, you may find to your dismay that a trolley is passing over your head and stops right in front of your eyes. This trolley is slung on a steel rope and starts from across the river from the main road side.

Places Visit to Near Dharamshala

11 km from Dharamshala and surrounded by deodar trees, the lake fills a mountain bowl, on the motor - road, this is an enchanting and serene picnic spot.

DAL LAKE:

ST. JOHN'S CHURCH: 8 km from Dharamshala, between Forsythganj and McLeodganj is the charming dressed- stone church of St. John in the wildness. Under the shade of deodar branches, a memorial has been erected over the body of the British viceroy, Lord Elgin who died at Dharamshala in 1863. There is a wall tended old graveyard on these grassy slopes. MCLEODGANJ: Often called the' Little Lhasa' at
1770 m, this is the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The Tibetan government-in-exile has been here for over three decades. The impressive monastery has larger than life images of the Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avalokteshwara. The large Tibetan community and the presence of traditional architectural designs drawn from Tibet have enhanced the area. A host of Tibetan handicrafts, curios and garments are available on sale and every Sunday, a flea-market appears.

BHAGSUNATH: Close to fresh water springs, this ancient temple is 11 km from Dharamshala. It is a popular picnic spot and the famous slate quarries are close by.
3 km levels walk from the Kotwali Bazaar leads up to this rock temple.

KUNAL PATHRI:

DHARAMKOT: On the crest of a hill this attractive

picnic spot presents a panoramic view of the Kangra valley and the Dhauladhar ranges. This is 11 km from Dharamshala.

TRIUND: Based at the root of the Dhauladhar ranges,Triund is at a height of 2827m and is 17 km from Dharamshala. The snowline starts at llaqua 5 km from here. This is a popular picnic spot and trek route, with spectacular views of the mountains and valleys. There is a lovely forest rest house here.

Places Visit to Near Dharamshala

10 km from Dharamshala on the banks of the rivulet Bindu Saras, is an ashram complex established by the late Swami Chinmayananda, a noted exponent of the Gita. The complex includes a 9m high image of Lord Hanuman, a magnificent Ragunath Temple, a meditation hall, a school, and a health and recreation center. 13 km south of Kangra is this large, monolithic temple, similar to the temples of Ellora. With rich ornamentation, this is the only shrine carved out of live rock in north India. Images of Lord Rama, Laxman and Sita are installed here.

ANDRETTA: 13 km from Palampur, the famous artist S. Sobha Singh lived here for several years. A gallery houses some of his major works. Also, there is a pottery centre at Andretta.

The Baijnath temple has been continuously under worship ever since its construction in 1204 A.D. by two local merchants named Ahuka and Manyuka. The two long inscriptions in the porch of the temple indicate that a temple of Siva existed on the spot even before the present one was constructed. The present temple is a beautiful example of the early medieval north Indian temple architecture known as Nagara style of temples. The Svayambhu form of Sivalinga is enshrined in the sanctum of the temple that has five projections on each side and is surmounted with a tall curvilinear Shikhara. The entrance to sanctum is through a vestibule that has a large square Mandapa in front with two massive balconies one each in north and south.

BAIJNATH TEMPLE:

Places Visit to Near Dharamshala

Located at about 15 kms from Wonderland resort, this ancient temple is 700 years old. Also known as Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham; this sacred temple is an abode of Shiva- the destroyer God and Shakti- the goddess of power since the saga of Puranas. The temple comprises of a big complex with a 'Kund' (pond) in it. The devotees take a holy dip in this pond. Due to its utterly sacred importance, the main deity of the temple is not accessible to the visitors, being kept under cover. A cave-like scoop at the back of the temple represents an embodiment of Shiva, the stone lingam. The Brajeshwari Devi temple, located in the old Kangra Township at an altitude of 615 m.the Kangra town is around 11 km away from Wonderworld resort.This shrine, once renowned for its great wealth, has been plundered relentlessly over the ages. The first of the plunderers was Mahmud of Ghazni, who looted it in 1009. A mosque was built on the ruins and a garrison was left behind. 35 years later, the local king regained its possession. The shrine was repaired and a replica of the idol was enshrined. The temple was filled with gold, silver and diamonds only to be ransacked again in 1360 by Firoz Tughlaq. Later Emperor Akbar visited the shrine with his Dewan, Todar Mal and restored it to its former grandeur. This temple is the most sacred monument in Mcleod Ganj. Simple in appearance from the outside, the temple houses larger than life statues of the Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avaloktwshwara. It is the largest temple outside Tibet and also houses one of the largest collections of sacred Tibetan texts. McLeodganj is steeped in Buddhist culture you can find anything from Tibetan food, good luck charms and thangkas to Enlightenment. In fact, many disenchanted foreigners come here seeking solace, meditation or to champion the Tibetan cause.
