ELOTEX FX5600 New Product Development

Background Information For the application of tiles onto balconies and terraces, screeds for floor heating systems or even critical substrates such as isolation boards, ETICS or tile-on-tile so called 2-componentic tile adhesives as well as 1-componentic speciality CTAs (RPP > 7%) have been used in the past. In general these products have the disadvantage that according to EN 12004 the requirements for C2-S2 tile adhesive could not be fulfilled: the more emulsion powder was used to achieve S2, the less good the wet adhesion turned out to be. This lead in the worst possible cases to an increased number of claims of exterior applied 1-componentic systems. Target of NPD The target of this new product development was to find a polymer solution that provides high flexibility and improved wet adhesion. ELOTEX FX5600 in a RPP-dosage preferably around 10 -12 wt-% (depending on recipe) fulfills these requirements. And how it does, we will explain here
