Alcan Aluminum Overhead

Covered Line Wire

Alcan Cables single conductor overhead line wire delivers continuous

and reliable performance on overhead distribution circuits. Alcan provides a
full range of single conductor line wire available in solid hard drawn 1350
aluminum, stranded hard drawn 1350 aluminum (compressed), aluminum
conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) and 6201 aluminum alloy. The conductor
covering is available in low density or high density polyethylene and
crosslinked polyethylene.

Product Application and Features:

Designed for use in overhead distribution circuits at primary or
secondary voltages.
The covering provides circuit protection from momentary contacts with
other conductors or trees, and corrosion resistance in certain environments.
Low Density Polyethylene and High Density Polyethylene insulated
conductors are rated for 75 C operation. Crosslinked Polyethylene
conductors are rated for 90 C operation.
Conductors are to be installed on insulators.

Alcan Aluminum Overhead Covered Line Wire:
Consists of solid hard drawn 1350 aluminum (ASTM-B230),
stranded hard drawn 1350 aluminum (ASTM-B231), ACSR (ASTM-B232),
or 6201 aluminum alloy (ASTM-399).
Meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI/ICEA S-70-547.

Product Markings:
Cable will bear the following surface markings: Alcan (Plant of Manufacture),
(Covering Type), (Year of Manufacture).
