His legacy lives on!. His daughter, Kathy, and her husband, Greg, (pictured above) have enjoyed such great success that they recently expanded into space formerly occupied by Trustco Bank. (By the way, the entry into the expanded store has moved to the entry at the former Trustco location) The store not only expanded its space but has expanded its inventory, with new lines of products well displayed and easy to find. Greg says, Since we took over the business, we have come to realize just how many special friends and loyal customers Ed had. We have continued those freindships and established a whole bunch more! We have gotten the sense that our community is one that looks after and takes care of each other. We are very proud to be business owners here. We are celebrating our expansion with special offerings in the coming weeks. We hope you get a chance to stop by and check out our new store. We hope you like it.

UNCLE WALLY WONDERS

Rodney King died this past weekend. You will recall what he said during the aftermath of his brutal beating at the hands of policemen: People, can we all get along? Can we get along? The answer is Of course we CAN. The questions are: When and How? As long as politicians choose to pit black against white, old against young, poor against the affluent and otherwise divide us, it will be very difficult for us to ever get along. Rodney, your wish is our dream, but the reality remains a nightmare. The theme for the parade this year will be: 250 years. The carnival will start at 6pm on Monday July 2nd and Tuesday July 3rd at the carnival grounds on Archibald St off from NYS RTE 22. Stop by and try some of the delicious food that will be served or try your luck at one of the many games for kids or adults. Also try your luck at winning by buying a raffle ticket for one of the many donated prizes. DJHappy Days Again will be on hand all three nights providing the entertainment. On Wednesday July 4th our parade line-up starts at 4pm at the Holy Cross church on North Main St (RTE 22). The parade will start at 5pm sharp and will go down Main St. to Park Place to the carnival grounds on Archibald St. As usual we are looking for a lot of floats for the parade, so if you belong to a group, organization, or just a family put your thinking caps on and start designing your float, because that is what makes up a parade along with a lot of music whether on a float or marching. There will be awards for the floats that come closes to the theme. On July 4th at 9:30 pm there will be a large fireworks display with a rain date of 9pm July 5th. If you are interested in being a part of the parade send an email to: salemfd4434@yahoo.com or call 518-321-9430. Just a reminder that the cake booth is always looking for baked goods for all three nights so please help us out.

Possible Uses of Bounce, the static cling product: My mail carrier told me that the U.S. Postal service sent out a message to all letter carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets to keep yellow-jackets away. Use them all the time when playing baseball and soccer. I use it when I am working outside. It really works. The insects just veer around you. All this time youve just been putting Bounce in the dryer! 1. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice. 2. Spread sheets aroundfoundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle. 3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that dont get opened too often. 4. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season. 5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen. 6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.. 7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce. 8. To freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet. 9. Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner. 10. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew. 11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing. 12. To freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat. 13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.. 14. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of ounce at the bottom of the wastebasket. 15. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs. 16. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds.. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling. 17. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth. 18. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper. 19. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight. 20. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away. 21. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh. 22. Wet a Bounce sheet, hose down your car, and wipe love bugs off easily with the wet Bounce.

There are two CCE Seed Kits available the Garden Vegetable Salad Kit which contains: Carrots, Cucumber, Lettuce, Tomato and Radish, and the Herb and Flower Garden Kit which contains: Basil, Parsley, Marigold, Sunflower and an Annual Flower Mix. Each kit is only $5. Please give us a call at 623-3291 for information or stop in any time Monday through Thursdayour office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
