The Samsung Group is a multinational conglomerate corporation headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul, South Korea. It is the world's largest conglomerate by reve nue with annual revenue of US$173.4 billion in 2008 and is South Korea's largest chaebol. The meaning of the Korean word Samsung is "Tri-Star" or "three stars". The Samsung Group is composed of numerous international affiliated businesses, most of them united under the Samsung brand including Samsung Electronics, the w orld's largest electronics company, Samsung Heavy Industries, the world's second largest shipbuilder and Samsung C&T, a major global construction company. Samsu ng has been the world's most popular consumer electronics brand since 2005 and i s the best known South Korean brand in the world. Samsung Group accounts for mor e than 20% of South Korea's total exports and is the leader in many domestic ind ustries, such as the financial, chemical, retail and entertainment industries. The project aims to identify the problems faced by SAMSUNG in market. and to als o understand the satisfaction level of channel partner. and various promotional activities that channel partner are doing to promote samsung. We have suggested a marketing plan for Samsung products along with other suggestions for Samsung l td to face the competition in the near future and the long run. In my study the topic assigned by Samsung, Kolkata was display mangement. Under t hat topic I was assigned AV DISPLAY RECTIFICATION. Company had assigned 10 showr ooms in Kolkata. I had to rectify the Samsung AV display in these counters. I ha d to analyze the display of these counters and rectify the mistakes. I was given AV display guidelines to help me rectify the display.. . Similarly as a part of my schedule, I not only promote Samsung products but also got a chance to meet different retailers and know what the problems they are facing are and how we ca n solve their problems. I also analyzed the Channel distribution and got to know how communication flows from retailer to consumer. The whole task was manual an d interactive, giving me a chance to have a word with the retailer and customer.

Under that topic I was assigned AV DISPLAY RECTIFICATION. Company had assigned 10 showrooms in Ko lkata. I had to rectify the Samsung AV display in these counters. I had to analy ze the display of these counters and rectify the mistakes. I was given AV displa y guidelines to help me rectify the display. Objective: What is visual merchandising? To understand the importance of visual merchandising Visual merchandising is one the most important aspects of modern trade Analyze the difference in display of Samsung and sony. Rectify the display as per the norms given and observe the difference in sales a nd customer behavior. Show the difference in sales figure of the counters before and after rectificati on. The purpose of the 'AV Display Guidelines' is to give a fair amount of direction to maintain consistency in the market. 4.1THEORATICAL PERSPECTIVE
