My Teacher

As we all know, History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. History is who we are and why we are the way we are. And all the knowledge that is all about history comes from one person. And that person is our teacher. Without our teacher we will not learn about our history. We will not understand on what happens on the past that will be the eye opener for the future. As you read this essay you will know and understand why a teacher must not be taken for granted. In this essay you will find out whom and what was my favorite teacher is. Being a teacher is a risk, you are not only giving a cognitive learning in your students but also in psycho-motor and most specially in affective learning. Me as a student before really dont pay attention in my history class, because the truth is Im bored in that subject until the time that I met my second year High school teacher Mr. Albesa. He is my teacher in Asian History. Ill just first tackle about his physical appearance: Mr. Albesa is tall and dark guy. he has a loud and clear voice that always catch the attention of all the students in our room. As usual, on the first day of our class, we all know that first day is just an orientation, but for him I felt that he was very serious and very committed in teaching, because on our first day he lay down his cards (what I mean is his first lesson). Wow. Lecture agad. That was my first reaction on him. Mr. Albesa asked us on that day: what is AGORA. My classmate answered him that Agora is a market place in Navotas. Mr. Albesa laughs when he here that aswer. Then he explain what is the real meaning of Agora.First he tell the history of that word. Agora is place where people are gathered and communicate with each other. Agora is where you can share your ideas and wisdom with the other people. In simplified form, Agora is a market of ideas. And he explained to us that in everyday that he will meet us, he wants to be our room just like as the Agora that every students in this place will participate in his class. Everyone should give their ideas so that his subject will have a healthy discussion. Mr. Albesa always starts the class with the Words of Wisdom. Every time that he enters the room, he always gives words of wisdom. He asked us to memorized and explain every words

of wisdom that he gave. I like Mr. Albesa because on his strategy. He just not gives us intellectual but also a moral knowledge. This word of wisdom inspires to be more interested in his subject. One thing that I will never forget in his class is when he gives us an ice breaker before our class start. This Ice breaker is called Black Magic. First he picked one student that will guess what the thing that will be guessed was. The student goes out so that he will not see what was the thing is. He pointed wall clock as the thing to be guessed. Mr. Albesa will point a thing and he will asked the students if that is the one. He point the chair, the table and etc. until suddenly he point the black bag. The player answered yes. But the black bag is not the one. The next thing he pointed is the wall clock. He answered yes. Well he asked us if what was the pattern of the game. Well, the pattern of the game is after he pointed out anything that is color black, the next thing that he will point is the thing that will be guessed out. That was the most memorable thing that will be pointed out. My next favorite teacher was Mrs. Magro. She is my favorite teacher because she is always considerate. I like her also because she is like my second mom. She has the attitude of being a mom. Mrs. Magro is very kind and generous in giving Grades. She was my teacher in Philippine History. She always thought her lesson very clear and easy to understand. Even though we are noisy in the class she is always there to teach and she is ready to discipline when we forget our limitation. How would I forget her, she is like my barkada when we are together but if the class is started everybody should pay attention. The most unforgettable lesson that she thought in us RESPECT OTHERS AS WELL AS YOUR TEACHERS AND YOUR PARENTS. I thought being a teacher is easy. Well I prove it wrong. Because being a teacher is a risk. You should give your students a INTELLECTUAL and MORAL LEARNINGS in their life. For me a very good teacher is always teaching moral learning in their students. Morality is much higher and needed than Intellectuality.
